| In Ukraine, we don't call our divisions states. We call them regions. We have 27 regions (24 provinces, a republic, and two cities of special status). |

There are no states in Denmark, but there are regions.
- I don't know how many there actually are, because they are really small. |

@Toron: Actually you have some, your country is a federative republic and thus your country has states, although in your country they are called provinces.
And we have none, because we aren't a federative republic.
But in 1918-1938 we used to have 4 of them. |

| Again, Canada has technically states as well, just there they are called provinces, unless your country isn't a federation, then you have states. |

| A state and a province are two separate things. A state is, or at least is supposed to be, an independent governing that makes most of its decisions, with a less powerful federal government at the head(U.S.). In other uses it describes the country itself and the federal government at the head. Provinces cannot describe whole countries, they are specifically divisions of a country. |

Why arent you listening a State has an elected Governor, a provences Governor is Appointed by the Crown Ohh and the Territories DO have their own Government
---
The point is, if Canada is a federal goverment, then it HAS states. |
