| Oh gawd no... I swear if Obama sends troops to help South Korea... -_- might as well send the navy too. Let's make ourselves perfectly vulnerable to a launch from NK. |

^Because NK obviously has ICBMs capable of flying to the other side of the world- they can't even send a rocket to much range out of the Korean Peninsula...
This is why NK does not pose any threat to the US. |

| I still hate that we haven't had a President brave enough to just stand up to NK instead of making "peaceful" arrangements/treaties that NK never keeps. |

| US can't take any action on this country that actually needs military attention because of stupid politics. Yet we can go invade some random country in the middle east that we have no business being in. If only we would have listened to General MacArthur about politics and war. |

| Oh dear god, this is just like the Iran misquote of Israel. It said it wants to eliminate the government of Seoul, not freaking declare war. You do realize NK has sent thousands of commandos over the border to kill and assassinate politicians in SK right? I am pretty sure SK does the same thing too. |

North Korea said Monday that it would soon initiate "special actions" aimed at destroying the South Korean president and his government.
North Korean armed forces will use "unprecedented peculiar means and methods of our own style" to carry out the actions, the official Korean Central News Agency said in a report, adding that the operation would take 3 or 4 minutes.
It did not specify what those actions would involve. - sounds like a raid to me. |

The North Korean government might be crazy, but they aren't crazy enough to drop a nuke that close to their own capital.
(Or I could be completely overestimating the effective range of nuclear weapons, one of the two.)
But yeah, it does sound like a raid. A nuke could get from anywhere in North Korea to Seoul in far less than 3 minutes, I'd assume. |

| According to Nuke Map, the largest North Korean nuclear warhead of 6 kilotons would barely dent Seoul. |

| So, if it's a nuclear strike, North Korea's probably going to use its entire stockpile. |

| Which would in turn leave itself completely open to a US strike. I think it is saving its nukes for a US strike to either hit a massive US staging point and or a fleet. |

| North and South Korea have been fighting for ages. The last time we intervened (Oh my god, it's a commie! Quick! Call the Anti-terrorist teams!) between North and south Korea, we got our buts kicked, and when we left, they kept fighting. But oh well! Let's just go to war again, forgot our mistakes, and have China and Korea blow us out of the war with heavy artillery cannons. |

North and South Korea have been fighting for ages. - 50 years isn't an age. Fighting for ages would be Germany and France.
The last time we intervened (Oh my god, it's a commie! Quick! Call the Anti-terrorist teams!) between North and south Korea, - Last time meaning first time.
we got our buts kicked, - Not really. Sure we had to retreat and fall back, that is not getting your butts kicked.
and when we left, - Are you are shaman who can see into the future? We haven't left! We have always maintained troops along the DMZ.
they kept fighting. - Small border clashes =/= constant fighting.
But oh well! Let's just go to war again, forgot our mistakes, and have China and Korea blow us out of the war with heavy artillery cannons. - LolChina would never go to war over some stupid starving nation that is no benefit to them other than ideological and political propaganda. |

| If North Korean nukes are too weak for much damage to an enemy, then the only logical thing to do with them is attack yourself and hope the ensuing confusion brings everyone down with you. |

| NO country is ever going to use a nuclear warhead, EVER. It's completely pointless even having this debate. |

| If NK launches their nuke at Seoul it's bye bye for them, even though i think the north korean artillery is a better terror weapon as it can shell the south bad. |

"WELCOME TO HIROSHIMA!
Also, iran could use one."
This is the difference between the 1940s and 2012, it was only the allies who owned the fully effective nuclear stockpile. Today, there are too many differing interests which have nuclear capabilities. If you nuke any nation (especially a close ally of/ or a western nation/ NATO member), then you are sure of massive, if not nuclear, retaliation; resulting in the almost inevitable death of the despot dictator behind it- and generally, these sort of people would not die for their nation, for they only wish to continue their reign of power for the longest possible time.
To put it short, nation leaders are too selfish to use their nukes. |
