As you can see from my join date, I was there for part of 2008. Now, sure, it doesn't look like I've seen much of it, however I played on my friend IRL's account, ronnoc7777 over the summer. After that, I created "MaxAll" in Sepetember. So, over all, I've experience a bit of 2008.
There are many things in media that "aren't as good as they used to be" The Simpsons, Final Fantasy, South Park, etc. However, it is difficult to pinpoint WHEN these things went bad. Some people who joined in 2009 say it went bad in 2010, some 10'ers say it went bad in 2011. Notice that no one ever admits it was THEIR joindate that had things hit the fan.
Now, there are three basic complaints I hear about ROBLOX... 1. The community is horrible.
2. The ROBLOX staff is money hungry. 3. The games aren't as creative and fun.
So, let me go over these.
1. The community has not decreased, it has simply expanded. Back in 2007 and 2008, there weren't too many people. I made this account a month before 2009, and I have an ID lower than 2 million. However, ROBLOX has now become less hidden, internet ads, commercials, and word of mouth has broughten ROBLOX to a higher level. Think it like this, say in 2007, there were 100,000 active users. about 1/3 of them are immature. That's aproximately 33k. Now, however, say there are 10 million active users. Now there are 3.3 million who are immature. See? There is more a chance you will run into these kids.
Now, that's just an estimate, I may be over and under estimating, but the point remains.
2. The ROBLOX staff isn't as money hungry as you think. ROBLOX is still free to play. You can play 99% of games without a membership, you can have a place to build, and you get an income of 10 tickets a day. In 2010, for the egg hunt, you could only get three without BC, this caused an uproar, however, in 2012 when NBC could get all the eggs, you never heard a thank you. ROBLOX needs money to run the site, keep servers, advertise, etc. It's not as easy as you think.
Also; hats. I hear a ton of complaints about how the hats are too expensive. Think about it like this; on ROBLOX, it is hard to tell an upper class, middle, or lower. Obviously, we'd know if Shedletsky joined our game, but there aren't too many ROBLOX celebraties that are widely known. If you're not on the forums, you cannot prove that you are from 2006 or whatever, unless you have a visor from that year.
Think about it like this; if the Domino Crown was 1,000 ROBUX, I guarentee you that few people would rare it. It would lower its rarity, and in short, ruin the hat. There are tons of hats for people low on virtual money to get, from cheap ones like Shaggy, to more expensive, but still on the cheap side hats like the Golden Crown. There needs to be a reward for getting a famous game, or doing well in Trade Currency (or, I guess, wasting tons of real money for virtual hats) so, ROBLOX gives us a lot of options to customize our characters. It is not impossible to get expensive hats without BC. My friend, Fireblade2 has only had BC once in 2008. Since then, he has gotten the Void Star, Valkyrie, a few top hats, and other pretty expensive hats from PLACE VISITS.
3. The games aren't fun and creative. This one will be short. Without a mind, nothing can be built. Do you think the Zelda franchise would be where it is today without Shigero Miyamoto? No. You need creative minds to come up with great games. With scripters finding new ways to make ROBLOX games more fun, the games are getting better, not worse. It's just the front page people love basic games, but us older ROBLOX players like more advanced games from time to time.
However, the point of my thread is that, face it; we've grown up. I was ten when I made MaxAll. I am now nearing fourteen. That is a big difference; I started in elementary school, and I'm now in high school. None of my real life friends play anymore, and even some of my ROBLOX friends quit. It is becoming harder to find people to play with on here, because I like to find a match for my maturity and @ge range. I would have trouble talking to a college student, and yet talking to an elementary schooler would probably annoy me. That causes people to quit, without fireblade2 and nintendocpu, I doubt I would be here right now. It's friends who make ROBLOX great.
Finally, ROBLOX isn't as socially accepted for Middle School and High School students as the (hugely overrated? lame?) Call of Duty, Halo, and other "HARDCORE" games. ROBLOX is, whether you like it or not, a kids game. However, there are things like scripting, cframe, and forums for us older players. It's just hard for kids to accept that. Peer Pressure causes some people to quit.
So, from 2008-2012, I see ROBLOX is getting better, not worse, it's just that YOU are outgrowing it.
So, if you've read all this, good job. I hope that you can either agree, or debate with me about it.
If you're going to post 'tl;dr' or 'wordwall' or something like that, then I might just take back my comments about how the forum is a place for mature people. If you don't want to read a long article, just leave, and don't post.
Thank you! ^.^ |

*Coughs awkwardly*
A forum post should be like a skirt. Long enough to cover the subject material but short enough to keep things interesting.
I'll read it later through, but I don't have time to actually read it right now. |

That's why I did the short paragraphs, you can read what you're interested in. I think it's pretty important, which is more *important, what's another word for important? I sound like I have a low vocabuary* than interesting in some cases. |

Alright, tl;dr version:
ROBLOX isn't worse, your opinions have changed and you've grown up.
Really, I spent 45 minutes thinking this up and typing it and NO ONE is reading it? |

| I've read all of the post and agree majorly with the title. The part about about the community being bad now is because like; when you grow up, you grow out of the social terms from being younger if you understand; like, you focus on more things and-- sorry i have bad short term memory. |

Yeah, Crazyblox, you get the point.
Think of it like this; people in their teenage years love to prove their "manliness" by swearing and making innaproperiate jokes. These aren't allowed on ROBLOX, so they get bored.
I am not talking about myself, I haven't swore IRL in a year. |

tl;dr Yes, 3/4 of the community doesn't use grammar and trolls. But, 96% (approximately) is under the age of 13. |

I agree with all of it, even though I don't have as much experience as some users. It is hard to find mature people on here who still like playing. |

@Nathan,
You don't have the evidence to prove that.
How would you know?

You're completely wrong, using your statistics, about it being more likely to be in a game with immature people - sure, there are more people who are immature, but there are also more people immature - using the same logic as you - in relative proportion. There were 1/3 kids, there are still 1/3 kids, so your chances remain the same.
If what everyone says about the community degrading is true, then the amount of kids relative to "mature" people is going up.
