It is not.
It just add's group management to a government or organization.

Socialism is still a dead system anyway, so it really doesn't matter.
The Free Market is the only thing that works. |

Socialism is the basis of the free market system.
Unadulterated Capitalism would be Barter town. Everyone working individually with individual skill's.
An example is that little man in mad max who was the only one with the knowledge and skill to run barter town's power. |

The entire world has to take part in making the sandwich, for we are all equal.
Also, America is way more functional than china. |

Therefore, only social equality can work. Including no matter race, language, opinions, or what makes you who you are is equal before the law.
Economic equality only exists in an even playing field where everyone has equal opportunity.
Economic equality does NOT include redistribution of wealth or government planed economy because that interferes with the people
the government should not see the people as a whole, but rather as individuals.

Interesting you say that, since you can only justify capitalism on a humanitarian level if you look at the people as a whole.
Look at individuals, and you'll see the unfortunate consequences of structural unemployment. |

China is a capitalist country in all but name.
But without question, it is still a police state |

Mahpizza
I looked every where in the streets of New York, Philly, Washington DC, Chicago and it is very rare to see a homeless person or a person without a job.
In London, I saw 1 to 2 people without a job every 2nd block |

The jobless rate in Britain is 8.1%. (October 2011)
Apparently their jobless people get out more. |

What I do think is good though that people usually do is form CHARITIES which people confuse to be socialism but its NOT
Socialism involves the government TAKING your money and supposedly 'giving' to others. And when I mean by others, I mean the members of the government, which it always does.
Charities are formed by PEOPLE that want to share their own money by their own decision and give it to those who really need it, to those who need help.
Now a way to solve the unemployment is to implement a flat tax on income and capital gain.
