Like with the rendering issue where you couldn't see in studio?

Yes, the glitch with GUIs were fixed.

However, my test solo isn't working now. It just opens another instance of studio. Start server and player work though.

Anyone else having the same issue?

@trappingnoobs: Depressing? Some people just like to design their GUIs visually. In fact, I hate scripting them, I design all of mine in the editor. That way they're not absolutely hideous like yours.

@NVI:

1- Mine aren't hideous. Or at least, the ones made in the last year or so aren't.

2- I said *need*. I didn't say I didn't use it. I just said it's depressing that without it people are helpless.

3- You should NOT need a visual guide for things like GUI. It's helpful, but if you require it, then there's something wrong.

4- You're an idiot

Okay so the guy isn't a full-on troll.

"You should NOT need a visual guide for things like GUI. It's helpful, but if you require it, then there's something wrong."

I'm not sure he knows what he's talking about. The G in GUI means graphical. Trappingnoobs can you please inform me on how to make an easy to use, pleasant to the eye graphical user interface without the graphical component of it for reference and testing?

(Percent Left-Right,0),(Percent up-down,0)+Knowledge of math = GUI win.

"Okay so the guy isn't a full-on troll."

Wait, you're calling ME a troll?

1- Yeah, maybe the 'G' does mean graphical, and yes, the output is graphical, but the input shouldn't need to be. At all.

2- If your GUI is done right, it should fit into place easily, IE not require things like Position.X.Scale=0.03423432432423, but rather something like Position.X.Offset=50 or Position.X.Scale=0.3. Cleaner numbers.

3- I never implied generating it without a script, although almost anyone will tell you that is the best way to do it, only a fool would do that when they've got the properties pane and it's easy enough to 'compile' a GUI into a script (Ie taking the properties and generating a script which generates a GUI from the properties, ergo generating a carbon copy). If you decide to go into software development, or even game development with the attitude "I can watch it as I make it", you'll fail. Badly.

@Guy who called me a troll again. Note that any replies you posted after my previous posts, I won't have seen at this point.

1- I'm not a troll. I've trolled other subsections, and I troll idiots who come here. I don't troll people who are at the level of intelligence where they:
--I: Can distinguish between 'scripting' and 'scripting helpers'
--II: Have the ability of basic reading skills and ergo realise they should not request scripts
--III: Don't miss CNG by about 15 pixels then not notice that suddenly everyone in 'CNG' has suddenly started talking about hardware, math and programming. (And requests from idiots)

2- Let me explain it to you in baby steps you can handle:
--1: Select StarterGui in the Explorer pane
--2: Press 'Insert'
--3: Press 'Object'
--4: Locate the scrollbar in the newly opened window
--5: Locate ScreenGui by clicking the scrollbar and dragging it across
--6: Click on it repeatedly until the window disappears. Alternatives include clicking once and clicking OK, and clicking once and hitting enter.
--7: Click the newly appeared ScreenGui
--8: Repeat steps 2 to 4
--9: Find element required. For this example, I shall suggest 'TextLabel'.
--10: Repeat step 6
--11: Click the newly appeared TextLabel
--12: Looking in the Properties pane, adjust the colour, position, and any other required properties.
--13: Press 'Tools'
--14: Press 'Test'
--15: Press 'Play Solo'
--16: Check if the result is satisfactory
--17: If not, repeat steps 12-16 until it is
--18: Huzzah, you made a nice-looking GUI without using the game display!

TL;DR:
use very repetitive steps, because its possible to make GUIs without them showing up the moment you begin!

Okay glad that got cleared up. At first I was a bit shocked at your first post.
Oh also the steps you listed aren't necessary now because of the recent patch.

I'm sorry. When you said it was "depressing" that just gave me the wrong idea about you, like you were some snobby teen. Didn't mean any offense man.

I have to look at it while creating it. And seriously, I usee offsets and absolutes. You have to use both to create a nice interface (or atleast the offsets).

I consider an offset the relative one.

I still don't understand how the GUI's properties work.

How exactly would I make a GUI perfectly in the center of my screen, and 3/4ths of my screen is covered by it.

Would it be "{0.75, 0} {0.75, 0}"??

Sorry. I meant that for size, and {0.5, 0} {0.5, 0} for centering it.

xnoboomx there's position and size, right. The position's scale is its scale in percentage proportion to the frame/screen it's in. Offset is the distance FROM that position it's offsetted by.

For size, it's the same basic idea. You just have to experiment with them to understand. Also, using tweenposition is super easy and fun! :D
