@Ghost The Constitution states no law can be made to protect a certain way of belief. |

Evolution Material such as "On the Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin are proven text that are true. A bible or any other religious book that has not been proven to be true would hinder learning since the truth will be confused.
Also there is the separation of Church and State, and Evolutionary Ideas are not religious.

| However even though that he has doubted himself, 95% of the material that he wrote in "On the Origin of Species" is true, thus proving it well...a valuable text. |

In the United States, the term is an offshoot of the phrase, "wall of separation between church and state," as written in Thomas Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802. The original text reads: "... I contemplate with sovereign reverence that act of the whole American people which declared that their legislature should 'make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof,' thus building a wall of separation between Church and State." Jefferson reflected his frequent speaking theme that the government is not to interfere with religion.
The phrase was quoted by the United States Supreme Court first in 1878, and then in a series of cases starting in 1947. The phrase "separation of church and state" itself does not appear in the United States Constitution.
The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The Supreme Court did not consider the question of how this applied to the states until 1947; when they did, in Everson v. Board of Education, all nine justices agreed that there was a wall of separation between church and state, but a majority held that the present case (a local authority paying to transport parochial students to school), the benefits to the children outweighed the Constitutional objection. |

@Vrix Ever think that maybe God used evolution as a tool to create life?

@Chaos
Technically we are created out of atoms billions to perhaps trillions or maybe even eons of years ago. While the debate of existence of how we came to be in the Universe is highly debatable, we are currently discussing a different topic which is off topic to this forum.

Yeah, what sense does teaching this make?
Have you ever read a comic book? Thought of it as a waste of time? Knew it was written by some creative individuals trying to show morals? The Bibl[e]...
Plus, There is barley any ground on teaching. Everyone's interpretation is different, even the people that wrote "The words of God"
Evolution actually supports everything else taught. Creationism is basically a believe in it or not.

@Poke
The Catholic Church(Which the Majority of people who believe in Creationism) clearly has stated that the idea or even the thought of Evolution is outright wrong and that all organisms are born perfect.

Lol you're an idiot.
Non-religious folk dont want to listen to constant chat about something we don't care about.
and the friends and family who were at Darwins death bed said that he did NOT renounce what he believed, just the idiot pastor or whatever said he did.

We should also teach our kids that Christopher Columbus was possibly an alien and that the pilgrims were actually EVIL SPACE OVERLORDS because that right there has about as much scientific credibility as creationism.
When creationism actually has any verifiable evidence supporting it you won't hear a peep about it.
Evolution is pretty much a fact at this point - the POPE of all people believes in it.
You don't see a huge fit about people trying to push for the myth that gravity is just "satan trying to pull sinners into the firey reaches of his lair" now, do you? |
