There is no mutual respect.
The low ranks have it right, they want to have fun.
The high ranks have it wrong, they want to have all the fun to themsleves so they don't let the low ranks have fun.
Conflict between them ensues.
Some of you reading may know the problem I am facing right now.
I aim to solve it, to fix it. Not for myself. I can fix myself just fine. But for others, so they don't have to face it, so they can have fun.
People trying to have fun are persecuted for it.
People persecuting people for having fun are respected for that some of the time, vice versa the other times. They are respected most of the time. Do they deserve to be?
No.
Some are good at hiding it, in a mask of lies.
Take RAT for example.
The admirals.
Who would you listen to in war, Lunascamander or Brian?
Why?
Would you win or not?
Do you think they would make it more about winning, or having fun?
As a leader, after a battle, I have always said "That was fun. Let's do it again sometime." or "I didn't really have much fun, it felt like they gave themselves unfair advantages. Let's not raid them anymore."
I have seen people who have done the same. No longer. Now everyone is like:
"That was terrible, we should have slaughtered them!" or "That was great, we slaughtered them!"
At trainings I was like:
"What do you guys want to do?"
Now everyone is like:
"Do this, bleh."
My trainings were for fun and to get better.
Your trainings aren't to get better. They're to shoot at eachother pointlessy for half an hour. At my trainings, I taught people how to do things. At your trainings you go "Good job red, dismissed." Or "Good job blue. Dismissed."
Ask yourself:
At your last training, did you teach anyone anything?
Did you promote someone?
Why?
Was it because they showed leadership, or skills with a gun?
Would you let them lead a squad into battle unsupurvised?
Against RAT admirals?
I would say yes. I've done it before, not with RAT admirals, but some of the best commanders leading some of the best warriors I've ever trained. And it was a good fight, a close one. It wasn't a wipeout.
Then ask yourself:
"Do I just expect more out of a higher ranking personnel, or do I train him harder, then expect more?"
If you think about these, you'll receive unsatisfying results. Do you know why? Because a conscript is trained to be a conscript. Not to be a scout. And even if that conscript deserves to be a scout, he is not given that. He is treated like he's trained; a conscript.
I am using RAT as an example. I do not applaud you, I do not denounce you. There are others that are worse.

| I've just now put it together. The pieces have been there. I grouped them together. Now I'm smart enough to finish the puzzle and bring it to the C&G's attention. |

RAT went pretty strict on treating all ranks nicely.
Conscripts aren't to be treated wrongly, CT has demoted people for that, if I can recall some older threads.
as you said, it was simply an example, but, yeah. |

By the way, I'm not saying HRs mistreat lower ranks.
But, how many conscripts get promoted a month, and tell me the reasons for ten of them. |

| Also, I think the average guest is better than the average player. Including mannnnnny of the conscripts. |

| Your average guest gets, for the most part, a grammatically correct set of responses. If only the same were true for members. |

If I had BC I would make a base and a clan, and make it as lenient as possible while still maintaining skill and order. My only rules would be:
No Tr0lling No H4cking No T34mk1ll1ng No Cuss1ng No Sp4mming L1st3n to HRs
And my HRs would be skilled people who can still have fun, instead of frapping over a stupid game. |

I like the way you think, just not your plan to make it happen.
There is no logical way it can happen unless enough INFLUENTIAL people care enough to support this. Sooooo...
Good luck! |

| Meh, leading is too dull now a days. You have to build bases and script. I rather be a trainer and train people. |

| The problem with that is that nobody would take us seriously. That's what REF started out as, and it was fun until I met the dyslexic leader. |
