Read the message I sent to understand:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to inform you and report a direct copyright infringement of ROBLOX's name, content and that the perpetrator is earning money through this scheme. I am aware that your terms and agreement state that, and I quote:

"2. The accounts, activities, items, games and models are for you to play with while on the site. Except as permitted by the functionality of this site, you can't sell them (for money or ROBLOX Points), give them to anyone, trade them for anything (including ROBLOX Points), or pretend you made them. You can display our pictures on your own personal web pages for your personal noncommercial use ONLY as long as you write either "Copyright 2005 ROBLOX Corporation All Rights Reserved. Used With Permission" or "(c) 2005 ROBLOX, Inc. All Rights Reserved. Used With Permission" on EVERY page with our pictures and/or text and you link directly to us. By the way, this means that you can't sell ads, barter for stuff, offer your services, or otherwise earn money, ROBLOX' Items, or ROBLOX Points either on web pages that contain our pictures and other Materials, or by using our pictures or other Materials, such as by offering to make ROBLOX banners or backgrounds for others."

It clearly states that you must direct all users to ROBLOX, write "Copyright 2005 ROBLOX Corporation All Rights Reserved. Used With Permission" and it can only be for noncommercial use. However, the offending content, which can be located at
[[URL]], does not suggest that the material is copyrighted to the ROBLOX Corporation. This material is also being sold for $7.25 - which is against the ROBLOX terms and conditions. It clearly states that " you can't sell ads, barter for stuff, offer your services, or otherwise earn money, ROBLOX' Items, or ROBLOX Points either on web pages that contain our pictures and other Materials, or by using our pictures or other Materials, such as by offering to make ROBLOX banners or backgrounds for others.".

Your faithfully,

I just learned that Shedletsky knows about this, however maybe he does not know that he is breaking the ROBLOX terms and conditions.

Oh, that book.

Lol I doubt they care, it's got the site's address stamped all over it inside probably.

Plus I doubt brandonhare makes much money from it.

Oh gosh. That book is SO STUPID. I tried to tell the person off in the comments, for trying to sell info about stuff found free on the ROBLOX wiki, but it said I had to have bought it.

Actually, he said he got permission. I'm not sure that's true, though.

Anyway, he posted two off-topic forum posts on the S&I forum about his book. I read the first part of it and I do think it is kind of nice, but it is filled with oh, so many typos and missing commas and incorrect punctuation..

Also, it doesn't really teach scripting, what it actually teach is how to do this or that. Basically, it's like Camoy's cookbook; it isn't a scripting tutorial, it just gives you examples and explains them, which isn't really that useful and isn't really appropriate to teach scripting.

However, it is indeed kind of nice.

I would rather print off the ROBLOX Wiki. I guess there is a market niche for it though.

@Julian

That's pretty obvious, look at comments, one of them is like

David R ButcherMaster posted

Oh dear me! My child created a fascinating code to change the lighting! Get a cup of tea for congratulations, darling! How fantastic that this high quality book taught my son to make a code which he could get for free in the models! Tally ho!

We should sell printed versions of the wiki and give the money to ROBLOX so they can hire more devs and make more updates. >:3

Anyway, the wiki is indeed better than that book, less expensive (free), easier to access (you just type wiki.roblox.com in the address bar, you don't need to buy a book, wait for shipping, go in a store or anything), and it is, which is not to be neglected, the only official source of information on ROBLOX Lua.

News: blog (blog.roblox.com)
Gameplay and website: Builderman's help (www.roblox.com/Help/Builderman.aspx)
Scripting and building: wiki (wiki.roblox.com)

The wiki benefits from the experience of many scripters. That book beneficied from the experience of a single scripter.

That's why the wiki is better, and will be no matter how good that specific person is at scripting, because, you see...

A single user's experience of ROBLOX Lua cannot be bigger than the ROBLOX Lua experience of all the wiki writers.

The parents just don't understand that doing that is actually extremly easy and that you could be taught to do so in no more than a simple typical forum post on SH. And forum posts on SH don't cost 8$.

The first comments are common to saying "This book is amazing, 5 stars!". Mainly because the person who posted the comment is a close friend, or relative to the seller.

The thing is, only people who have bought the book can comment. If you're dedicated enough to learn to script to actually spend 8$ on a book, then you would also be dedicated enough to learn from the wiki.

The thing is, most users who want to learn from the wiki are not that dedicated, and that is why they say the wiki does not work.

It's all about dedication. If you're dedicated enough to learn, any source will do it, but the wiki is probably the best source to do so.

That guys doing a lot of that. Even on iTunes he creates applications that are completely ROBLOX created. They even ask for username & pass.

Funny thing is, his iTunes account username is John [Last name] instead of Brandon [Last name]. Though [Last name] is probably fake.
So awesome that I caught that. Can't believe I remembered that.

It could be his father. I do not know for sure, but it is a possibility that people under 18 cannot have a iTunes account; maybe they cannot sell things?

Could possibly be another account, same person.

Also, I don't think you need to be an adult to register an iTunes account, but you need to be one to upload apps.
