This thread is going to be used to give information on updates for my Steampunk RPG, Steam Era. Feel free to post Suggestions!
Story:
2064 - The Information Era has ended. Fossil fuels have been depleted, and humanity have lost most their technology. Electronics, Plastics, all that stuff is gone. We tried so many alternatives. Solar Power, Wind Power, Hydroelectric, but nothing worked long enough to give us a substantial amount of energy. But one day, Scientist Tom Darwin created the Lava Therory. Can we mix Lava and water in a massive bowl and use the steam that comes out? Apparently so. The first "Steambowl" was built in the Village of Lavahearth on the outskirts of Old London.
2132 - The Steampunk's have been living rough recently. A new crime syndicate known as "The Deity's" have settled down in Information City (It is unknown what city IC was in the Information Era), a ravaged place which took the full blast of a steambowl disaster in 2075. They have started to threaten the Steampunk's, saying that they will overthrow the Steampunk King Luther I.
2134 - The Steampunk Deity War. King Luther I is dead. Killed by a Mass produced Information Era gun. I think they call it a Magnum. Despite the King's death, the Deity's were pushed out of Steampunk territory during the battle of Forest Alpha, and now continue to reside in IC.
The rest is unknown as of now... Perhaps you can continue our history?
(Yeah, I'm not sure if the Lava Theory would work either, but who cares?)
The game will be a fairly large RPG, which will be utilising the Roblox Universe tool which better be released, because I am strongly relying on it to do so right now. It will be class based, and have both melee and shoot-em-up aspects. |

(Current Classes)
So far, I have these classes in mind to be used:
Swordsman - The swordsman uses melee combat to slash his or her opponents, probably duel wielding swords. The swordsmans special powers are all about crowd control, so the swordsman will be able to tackle many enemies at a time.
Bandit - The Bandit uses both Sword and Flintlock during battle, slashing his or her foes up close then unloading a flintlock round into his or her enemies. The Bandit uses special powers that do damage up close, then getting away from the enemy, and shooting them down, so the Bandit would likely take less opponents at a time.
Musketeer - The Musketeer is all about heavy ranged weapons. Blunderbussess, Muskets and Snipers all suit the Musketeers style just fine. The Musketeers special powers involve getting the enemy away from them, and performing special "Skill shots" which add additional effects to every shot.
Medic - the medic fights with a flintlock, perhaps a melee weapon too. The Medic is all about healing, and can therefore take a lot of damage. The Medic can also heal allies, and is crucial in an instance party
Gunstringer - The Gunstringer loves flintlocks. They duel wield flintlock pistols to shoot the opponent into pieces. Their special attacks include getting enemies away from them, and Skill shots like the Musketeer.
If you can think of anymore, lemme know. |

(Planned Locations)
Lavahearth - Home of the first Steambowl, and the Gladiators Arena. Lavahearth is the starting zone, as therefore has a lot of tutorials and easy quests. There is a slight Deity prescence in the area.
Forest Alpha - Forest Alpha is an area still at war against the Deity's. As well as the Deity's, Forsest Alpha is also full of natural dangers, and is generally unsafe for anybody not acrbatic enough to brave it. In the heart of Forest Alpha lies the Bastion, a Steampunk base used to train the Steampunk army.
Information City (IC) - IC is the home of the Deity's, and another area where the Deity's and the Steampunk's are doing battle. Since the ground level of the city is infested with the syndicate, the Steampunk's stay at the rooftop levels of the city, and, like Forest Alpha, it is important to be acrobatic here.
London - There is next to no Steampunk or Deity prescence in London. Instead, The West End and the East End battle for control of the Capital. Players will be able to choose a side, and battle fight the other team. London is the only PvP area besides the Arena (For now)
I kind of want some more locations, but these will do for now. |

| Right, made a start on the Observatory. Should I make it a quest pool for people high enough to leave Lavahearth Village but not high enough for Forest Alpha? Or just make it part of a single side quest? |

Side quests are more fun, in my opinion >:3
By the way, you should add more to the agility course, it's fun as it is, but it would be cool if you had to do the agility course over a miniature steambowl just to make it harder to see. |

Sounds cool. Now just execute it well and you'll have a fan.

I don't really want the beginner agility course to be "dangerous"
The IC one will have some hazards, but I don't want the first one to kill any players...
By the way,if anybody wants to help me with retextures and clothing, please say so. |

| It sounds cool but I do have a question about how it's 2060 and they're back to flintlocks and muskets? |

Along with fossil fuels, humanity would have likely lost the ability to mass produce guns, so they have to be made via blacksmithing.
By the way, the Forest Alpha Bastion has a massive agility course, which has simulated certain areas a soldier could find himself in, such as IC, Forest Alpha etc. So you could still get a Steambowl styled agility course. |

| To update, the Observatory is about 3/4 done. After this I think I'll get to work on making a nice Deity compound near it. |

| Nice. Maybe add a bit where you can take a boat to a destroyed New York city. |

| Like, maybe a post-nuclear war New York. Ads a nice touch of familarity and mystery to americans. Maybe it can be that before the fossil fuels ran out, a war ravaged the much of the western world. I know this strays a bit from the actual storyline, but it would make it seem mysterious. |

| That makes it just sound very much like a generic post-apolalyptic RPG. I want to make something genuinely unique. I may add America into the game at some point though. |
