It truly is. For several reasons, actually.
1. Almost all mainstream nowadays is about these topics only: 1a: Parties 1b: Love 1c: Bad or dangerous teen activity
It just constantly continues those three topics. I don't seem to understand how that's what happens to be "hip" among the majority of America's population. Eventually, the three topics will grow boring. Personally, I hope that happens fairly soon. I'm tired of it.
2. The only mainstream genres you hear are Pop and Rap (Hip Hop)
Once again, it will grow boring. Most Hip Hop songs are bad anyhow. Just look at Eminem. He practically teaches children to use bad language, which affects their behavior, and in most cases, their life styles. Pop teaches people about love most often. Not that love is bad, but the fact the most songs say things like:
"Tonight, we're going hard", "Tonight will be the night", etc., if you have some knowledge, you can understand what they mean. Again, children shouldn't be put under that crap.
3. Almost NONE of the mainstream artists use their voice.
With new computer technology, they can literally just make a voice, and use it the whole song. If you do that, then you shouldn't even be an artist. Look at LMFAO for example. They use computers for all their voices, and they even use computers to make their instruments sound good. I heard them on Saturday Night Live awhile back singing Party Rock Anthem, and afterwards made a statement that the normal Pre-school child can sing better than that in their musicals.
Point is, that basically tells you one thing: They have zero musical talent. They should get a job with Geek Squad at Best Buy; they're obviously good with computers. Not so much singing, however.
---
My point is, you guys really need to stop listening to mainstream. My favorite is metal and rock. Why? A lot of songs actually have meaning. A lot of Pop songs are just put together to get the songs liked and on the radio. Plus, with metal, rock, and alternative, RARELY does the same topic repeat it self over and over. Pop and Hip Hip rot the minds of kids and teens alike. Not to mention, as stated, they need to use computers to sound good. That's totally pathetic. That's called, "No talent". No wonder the one guy on LMFAO has a box on his head. He's probably homeless because he couldn't do anything. They must have found him by a dumpster, given him a computer, and began to pay him.
That is why I find mainstream to be horribly terrible. Discuss.
____
tl;dr version: Mainstream is horrible for many reasons. Discuss. |

| I wouldn't hate on it for those three reasons. These excuses about why I made are being posted because you agree with this, but refuse to admit it. |

Why should a rap fanatic like me agree with your ignorance? Metal is pretty mainstream too. |

Ferry;
Considering I listen to the radio all the time in the car, and often inside, because of my step-sister;
Sure, I don't know it all. However, I've heard most. And from what I've heard, it's horrid. |

You could also do this. Keep listening to what you like, and shut the hell up about the other genres. |

>Ignorance;
Ignorance isn't a synonym for the truth. Try again.
Metal isn't mainstream. You rarely ever hear mainstream metal. It's never on the popular stations, just the rock only stations. Bands like Coldplay and Nickelback aren't metal. Coldplay is Alternative Pop. Nickelback is Alternative Rock. |

| Those were two examples. They are also the two most popular, according to many charts, that are even somewhat close to metal. |

1. Almost all mainstream nowadays is about these topics only: 1a: Parties 1b: Love 1c: Bad or dangerous teen activity
That's like saying all metal is about death, satan and rebellion...but that is not true either.
2. The only mainstream genres you hear are Pop and Rap (Hip Hop)
And rock and metal.
3. Almost NONE of the mainstream artists use their voice.
You know that is not true. |

1. Name at least 10 songs that currently are popular, and are not about those topics.
2. Name at least 5 popular metal songs that you hear on the most popular radio station in your area.
3. Prove me wrong. |

| If hip hop music was just music I wouldn't have a problem with it. But it's a lifestyle of partying and being useless and not getting an education. |

| Well, it's your opinion. Some pop songs have meanings, and you're right, a lot of songs are planting bad thoughts. But not all mainstream is bad. When Daft Punk was mainstream, it wasn't bad. They rock! |
