They're okay, my uncle has one.
But I'd recommend an Acer or Lenovo |

| We have one, but I always use my desktop for building because the laptop overheats and turns off while I'm building :(. Overall though, it's an OK laptop. |

'Recommended brands?'
Lenovo Thinkpad E520
This is my computer, and it is AWESOME (as long as you dont download stupid stuff) I have 8 gigs of RAM installed seperate, but thats the only special thing. It has a good battery life, a good processor, and it works great.
The only thing I can find wrong about it is the graphics card. I have an Intel family graphics card, and on Minecraft it lags with anything other than tiny render distance. |

Now, they are.
Not my old one that I got from my grandpa, it's at least 20 yrs and it has Windows 98 and it's heavy as heck.

| No, I'd not recommend. When I had one the GPU overheated.... I got my money back and built the pc I'm using now. |

| Also, if you are looking for any computer (laptop or desktop) try to get a custom made one. Trust me, it's worth the money. My current laptop has got I7 3960X Extreme Edition CPU 580'S in SLI (2), 32GB Quad DDR 3 Ram, 4 SSDS 240GB. |
