Make it fair with good weapons and many passageways in and out of the base.

1.Big gate wich can be opened from somewhere for vehicles to pass. Should be slow to open/close.
2.Smaller gate or a airlock-kind door for people to go thru.
3.If theres water make the fort next to the water and make a place so boats can go inside the fort. like

add some kind of "gate" (steel bar grid kinda thing?) that can be lowered so boats cant get in.
Make the fort have an outer and inner area, like:
First is the "wall". Make the wall not just a wall, but make it so that theres rooms inside the wall and so you can walk inside the wall aroudn the whole wall. Maybe 2 floors. Add small windows and stuff.
Then make the actual fort building. The wall should be connected to the actual building from a few places, but there should be yard between them (so theyre mostly separated) with tanks and choppers and stuff on the yard(s)
Now, in the middle of the main building, there should be a big open space.
It would be a really wide open area that goes deep to the ground. In the middle of this open area is a high security building with all the important stuff. (nuke launch button etc. Weapons go to main building not here, they not important enough) So that first theres main building, then a big drop, and then the high security building, no matter from wich direction you come from.
The hi sec building should have a bridge or 2 across the deep drop, but the bridges should be disable-able so that you can hdie in de hi sec building if enemies get in. From the high sec building there should go a secret pathway downwards, going under the bottom of the deep pit surrounding the hi sec building, to some location far from the fort. |

Make it in a mountainous region.
Have the raiders/visitors spawn in caves and such around a fort/bunker.
Make it rocky and snowy.
The fort should be on a slope and such, and go inside a side of the mountain. |

Hashifox a lot of helpful advice is here but i have to say something to counter all that, the fact is that this is NOT something you should be getting help from this forum, a fort is special to clan because not only is it going to be used for defending but it is something that should also DESCRIBE your clan
is your clan a trickey clan that prefers picking enemies off one by one? then you might want to choose a shape giving you plenty of sniping positions and small passage ways.
or does your clan like to head in straight into battle? then you might want a dense foresty type of base that your men can use the terrain to take on groups of soldiers by surprise.
or do you prefer to play it fair? a thick map that is hard to manuver is probably the best style so no matter where your soldiers are they will have as much trouble as the enemy.
but whatever you decide remember that is YOURS and your clans choice. hope my post helped
