...So I scripted a sniper rifle that can shoot an accurate ray at 500 studs due to it's zooming ability.

| You do know that raycasts are default 100% accurate, and you have to script them to be inaccurate? No big accomplishment there. |

@mage, you do know, that when you try and shoot a ray cast gun over even 200 studs, you have a high chance of missing anyway.

Funny how you only have 4 models. Funny how you can make a moderately difficult sniper like that.
Explain pl0x?

@Valone,
No.
Rays go in a perfectly straight line unless you script them to go off at an angle from the origin point.
Otherwise, it'll go exactly where you point it at. |

and it's lack of scripting knowledge...

@mage, I'm being serious. Your target would be smaller than your mouse at that distance away, therefore, you'd have to be very precise where you move your mouse on screen. Oh, and lack of scripting? Alright, suggest something that'd be fairly short to script? I'll write it right now and post it.
I delete my models. Oh, and get out and stop trolling, you don't even know what your on about.

So, what would this do if you do know?
function bob() return bob() end
bob()

It just goes back to the beginning of the function?
I don't use returns, nor do I make unnecessary functions for teh lulz. |

return and arrays are vital. You appear to know only of RBX.Lua. I code in languages other than Lua, Stack is the term used when a script trips over itself, IE in a paradox.
while true do end
^That script does not pause in the slightest, therefore it runs in gaps of 0 seconds, meaning it could run infinite amounts of it in that 0 seconds.
Therefore, it stacks causing an error.

So it did exactly what I said, goes back to itself?
Okay, that's proved nothing except that you can crash a script?
And I know other coding languages, vaguely.
But from what I can see, you know how to do a loop without waiting. |

The one before, will not stack. It is not a paradox. ROBLOX uses plenty of return's in there C++ IE a lot of there events, like ray cast, it returns a Object and a Vector3.
So, it doesn't do what you said.

You've thoroughly proven you know about returning a function, GREAT.
Still haven't proven anything about actually knowing how to script something practical, or even better, how to script the raycast gun you said you did in the OP.

Its up to the player to hit the enemy not the gun or the raycast bullet

Ray cast guns are simple, why would I possibly want to prove that? The zoom script was also simple, just a few variables, statements, functions and calls.
