The following is a concept that I'm not sure I'll use, it's an idea, but I intend to make the most of it.
Most clan bases are fairly simple, the raiders have to capture an objective, usually a flag for so many minutes and they win. It's like a car, the bodykit may change but the principle stays the same. The idea changes most of that, but keeps the traditional touch.
-WHAT IS THIS IDEA?
The first change is that everyone gets his or her own space ship. These ships are no bigger than 2 or 3 Robloxians (depending on class), and they're not meant to walk around in. In fact, the character you spawn with immediately gets abandoned and your camera is focused on the ship instead.
-WHAT DOES A SHIP FEATURE?
Ships have shields on every side. Port, starboard, stern, bow, well, I suck at that kind of navy stuff. But basically left right up down back front. Below shields is your hull integrity, and if you hadn't guessed already, if that is 0 your ship will blow to pieces. You can modify shields, making them stronger or make them recharge faster.
Ships also have weapons (oh yes) that are also modifiable. Weapons have a certain range, let's say you have a 60 degree angle range at the front, you can only fire at ships that are in that range with that certain weapon.
-WHAT IS THE OBJECTIVE?
There are 2 'worlds', when thinking from a game designer perspective. There is the normal world, which is the world you'll spend most time in. This world has all solar systems in it, but of course all solar systems are not connected directly. A solar system has a star and a few planets. Both teams will have a 'HQ solar system' which is their home system. The raider team obviously aims to capture the clan's HQ system.
The second world is a 'overworld' world (that's a lot of worlds in one sentence). When you decide to leave a solar system and go to another one, you go to warp. This brings you to the overworld. From here you can travel to other solar systems. When you are close to a system, you simply leave warp and you arrive at that system.
HOWEVER
You can't 'skip' solar systems. A raider can't just fly straight for the HQ system, nor can a clan member. The fight will always be at one solar system (the 'heat' of the battle). If you try to sneak past that solar system, you'll be shot down by turrets of the enemy team that appear there automatically. In that 'hot' solar system, you basically fight to advance. If you destroy/capture/obtain the objective in that solar system, your team can move on to the next solar system, closer to the enemy HQ, and keep fighting. The ultimate goal is to conquer the HQ system. A server starts out with the solar systems divided into 2, one side is the enemy side, one side is the clan side.
-WHAT SHIPS ARE THERE? There are classes to categorize ships in. These aren't completely thought out, they're general ideas. There will be more ships than classes. Each ship will be around ~40-100 bricks.
--Fast ships -Low health -Worse shields than most ships +Fast and maneuvarable +Decent weapon slots, but mostly focused on frontal assaults.
--Middle class ships +Normal health -Outmaneuvered and outrun by fast ships -Outgunned by heavy ships +Plenty of weapon slots
--Heavy class ships +Lots of health and good shields +Plenty of weapon slots -Easily outrun, outmaneuvered, and overrun by other ships.

Star Trek Online much?
Sounds like a great idea, as long as it's fair on both sides and WIJ doesn't get super OP ships. If it's even-sided, I'd hang out and fight there on my free time for sure. |

Why yes, some things are definately taken over from Star Trek. But this is just the concept, things are likely to change. I'm definately going to make this my own thing, if I'm going to.

I like the idea, but I'd prefer if there were just like, a mothership of the Raiders and WIJ. Like, boarding parties and "blow a hole in the port side plz" type combat. That would be good.
