I'm shocked I can rap faster than anyone in my school. But that's not the main reason of rap. |

"Well coming from the guy that thinks Lady GaGa is good.
That's kind of nice."
Actually I know Lady Gaga is fantastic. |

So music that combines mindless pop music with hipster-pretentiousness and a political ideology is good? Oh, for me it 'effs with my ears whether I want it to or not when I'm in any place of commerce. |

| I didn't even say anything unintelligible or cryptic; my message was put across quite clearly. If you want me to speak more impudently and frankly, I'd like to say that at face value, pop music tends to be remarkably apolitical in nature, but that's exactly how it _is_ political. It is status quo, consumerist propaganda. It's everywhere because you buy it, you buy it because it's ubiquitous; it's an endless cycle of dumbing down music, art, culture. |

That was completely unintelligent. Spewing biased opinions when calling something else propaganda just makes you look like a stupid hypocrite.
People buy music because they like it. Pop sells more than death metal, therefore they play it on the radio.
Radio's take requests as well. More times than not, someone will request a pop song over a metal song.
Why would radio stations play Death Metal if nobody requests it? ...................... It's not dumbing down anything. It's just how business works. If Strawberry Ice Cream sells 100k cups a day, and chocolate sells 25k, the company is going to make more Strawberry than chocolate. Same with music. |

But that's not what I meant at all.
(Keep in mind "pop" is a vague label that can encompass "things that are creative", and also "things that were cynically designed to appeal to generation Y") |

Lady Gaga is the best female artist in modern pop. She sings about true things and has meaning. Yes, she is weird, but she has an amazing voices and amazing songs. I'm actually "Trying" to get discovered by doing covers of her songs online. My voice sounds somewhat decent, but I'm not the judge of that. :)
Anyways, it's hard to believe you sound good when you can't show us. |

""pop" is a vague label"
When Pop is talked about in music, it usually refers to Popular music. |
