| I really don't think a good percentage of the kids at my school should be allowed to vote. Not that they would anyways... Hopefully more educated people that actually look into politics votes rather than educated / non educated people voting. |

We don't bring up unrelated things in other thread because we are butthurt.
We are mature.

And I've already told my mom, since she's not too smart and I'm gonna miss voting in this election by a year, that she shall express my will in her vote...
Which is anyone but Obama, which she was gonna do anyway <3 |

^Refused to give sources or support for their argument after it was proved wrong multiple times, and claimed the Bible was a reliable source for historical context.
And yes, people are too stupid for democracy. |

@Studies suggest people are overall too stupid for democracy.
What was this a liberal school project or something? Of course all public schools are liberal. |

I always thought a good alternative to democray, should we ever need one, is Technocracy, where the people most skilled would lead in each field. ___ I don't trust economists. |

| The failings of centralized representative democracy have little to nothing to do with the stupidity of the populace. Any prescriptions for these failings that involve authoritarianism will only exacerbate them. |

Obviously there are bad apples in every profession, to hate a whole profession because of a few is outright stupid. ___ It's not dumb. The vast majority of models created by economists are wildly inaccurate. Their predictions are rarely correct. Economists claim to know things that they don't.
To call economics a science is a joke. It's not precise. |

Here is a series of basic questions in economics: What's the best way to end a recession? What was the primary cause of the Great Depression? The current recession? What's the multiplier effect of tax cuts? Spending increases? The lowering of interest rates? Is the Laffer curve correct? Is saving good or bad for the economy? What's the best way to reduce poverty? Currently, is excessive inflation occurring? If so, what's causing it?
There are no concrete answers to these questions. The answer depends on who you ask. Compare economics to biology, or to climatology, or to geology, or any other "science." You'll see the difference. |

Make people take a test to prove they know what they're doing before they vote. Problem solved.
