fallout 3 reminds me of how greatful i am not having to be living in that scary world. (point lookout -lolol) fallout new vegas reminds me mad max (especially with the corvega mod)
i love them both. i must agree though, new vegas does has points to point out there that are really fun to mess with, especially with mods.
personally though, i adore fallout 3 just a -tinnyyy- bit more than new vegas.
i can't wait for fallout 4. hope it beats both of them! |

| What a coincidence. I just started playing the the Ultimate Edition of NV about a month ago. It's fantastic. I feel it does many thing better than 3, The only thing that 3 has over NV for me is the world. I think it's pretty awesome to explore bombed out DC. |

I prefer content... Because the content we are talking about is DLCs and the gamepaly itself.
Fallout 3 features numerous quests and questlines that have effect on your gameplay later on. Plus after you finish the story with Broken Steel you then wake up to find out that you are not dead, and then you can do whatever you'd like to do. You would also get random encounters as well as a HUGE map to explore.
Fallout new vegas has effects on gamepaly, but only on factions. Karma will not affect the gameplay, since people will hate you, but won't attempt to kill you. Neither is the good karma where you can get bad guys to try and kill you. Once you done with the story you don't get to see the aftermath, only hear it.
Only good side that Fallout new vegas has is the oprotunity to find rare stuff(because everything got denerfed in chances of finding A item) and weapon mods and Iron sight feature.
What new vegas has is not gameplay, it's features IN the gameplay. FO3 and FONV play almost the same. |

| Also, if you'll notice, new vegas does not have much of a "fallout" going on. The bombs were bombed outside of new vegas leaving only limited water sources and even the water sources themselves are barely radiated. |

@sonic Really? It feels distinctly Fallout to me. A lot of the team members that worked on it at Obsidian were veterans on the original two Fallouts, so some of that influence leaks through. |

@River777
Original is not necessarily better. And by "fallout" I mean the event after a detonation of a bomb. Unstable Isotopes fall on earth literally. Go inside the lake, and no radiation. The only radiation I found is radiation chambers and barrells filled with radioactive stuff. |

@Sonic
I never stated original was better. I simply stated that it felt like old Fallout.
As for your "fallout" point, I agree. Not really that much of an apocalypse when you can walk into Lake Meade without acting like a glow stick. |

In the game these are optional places. And like I said, radioactive chambers or barrels. They pretty much placed them like so that you don't have to go there. In FO3 in many cases you pretty much NEEDED to go through radiation.
Not much of them are actually fallout affected, except for the old nuclear test site which is pretty obvious. Apocolypse my butt, I do not bleieve the refinery in DC would have managed to purfiy the water in california. |

| Yes it tells that new vegas was saved by Mr. House. HOWEVER, if Vegas was supposed to be the one that is a desert Oasis, why the outside areas are not muh of a threat when it comes to radiation. |

| Fallout 3 is more immersive and actually sticks to the story. |

Like I said OPTIONAL, most of these quests can be skipped out. In come fly with me you can't even access it, so it's not a threat to you. |

IKR? instead of an actual story it was just merely a political disagreement between factions. Who gives a crap about it? all that DID matter is the upgraded OS of the robots. |
