I'm making a new RPG, hoping it catches on. I can handle all the scripting, I just need great ideas. The name of the game is "Story Craft" and here are the systems I've made so far.

*Damage numbers (great looking, also counts poison/fire over time)
*data saving (stats AND bought weapons)
*Enemies
*Stats (Strength,intelligence,dexterity,defense)
*Melee weapons that's damage depends on stats (working on ranged)

The weapons so far are:
*Sword/shield:Damage depends on str (hold a key to block enemy attacks and a word above your head says "*Block*"
*Dagger: Damage depends on dex, and deals damage + poison. (working on stealth)

As I said I'm working on ranged weapons, so if you have any ideas then shoot for it. Soon, I'm making a class system, and hopefully a quest system.

If you feel the need to contribute any buildings, or scripting help, I would be very greatful. Thank you for your time.

Note: I'm also looking for Artists, as my drawing skills aren't that great. I would use it for gui stuff ingame, and hopefully a group icon.

I can help with ideas because I am a writer I have written 2 books and one chapter got in a book. And this is a new account cause my old one Ridesandbloopers got hacked :(

Don`t forget to add 4 or more classes cuz if u add 3 or less it will get kinda boring.For ranged weapons,you should make a magic staff for each and every element and make 5 or more different types of bows.make sure that you add as many player stats as possibe cuz players love it when they are in game where they have to upgrade themsleves.You should think about making a boss enemy that you fight at the end of the game thats so strong that only thr strongest weapons can defeat it.Maybe you should add cutscenes to make the game more realistic I think that people would rly like that but you don`t need to add a lot of cutscenes.You should of course make a class for every player stat make each class based on one of the player stat.Don`t forget to add armor cuz people will hate it if they can die too easily.You don`t wanna make it too easy for them to die but at the same time you don`t wanna make it too hard.Make to add weapons or items where you that could allow you to put a side effect on a monster like burn or poison.Obiviously you are gonna need shops for all of this stuff and make the quest system before making the class system it will help you a lot trust me!Well these are all the ideas that I have.

@hatGear, I already havea chat (as in dialog) shop that opens an advanced gui, and it data saves too :3

Right now I'm working on the class system, almost done, jsut got to work on some boolean stuff.

So how the class system works now, is you wont be able to leave the spawn room until you choose your class (via dialog), and then you can use shops designed for your class. It works great, data saves and all, but now I have to make a person to talk to to change your class.

I was thinking adding four new types of stats, Fire,Water,Air,and Earth. And the more points you put in this, it has a higher chance of adding a special effect to your weapon.

KazzMann heres an idea related to what you were on about with the stats for the weapons.How about haveing the elements for the weapons but when you destruy a fire monster you get more fire xp that fills your bar and the same for the rest BUT it can be a power up for example you fill your fire bar up and you use the power up and decide to fire a arrow because of the upgrade it would be a fire arrow which would deal more damage to the other three elemental monsters.

Just a idea.

*Update* Class system is working fully, and so is the data saving. Soon there will be a party system.

I have an idea for different classes you can choose (I'm not a scripter but if i was i could help.)

Knight:

Advantages - More damage from weapons - Takes more damage
Disadvantages - Slow -Only uses close range weapons

Archer:

Advantages: - Fast - Can shoot from afar
Disadvantages: - Not very high health -Weapon damage is kinda weak

Mage:

Advantages: -A well rounded class - Can heal allies -Attacks from a distance deal a good ammount of damage
Disadvantages - Can't heal itself - Lowest
ammount of health - Close range attacks are weak\

That's all i have for now. Do you like the ideas?

Well I already have Warrior,Mage, and Rogue done, and now that I have learned that I can fit more into data save I will most likely end up adding archer :) Thanks for the suggestion. Right now I'm working on the quests which are coming along nicely.
