| She says she just remembers the british tanks coming down her street then the soldiers came out and wre throwing sweets everywhere. I find it incredible how she still remembers that day when she was five, she's in her 70's now. |

| Guess so. It wasn't such a great day for Germany. But my great grandfather managed to avoid a jail sentence for feeding prisoners of war by helping the allied troops. |

| Well they weren't n4zis and lived in the west. In fact my great grandfather was nearly arrested for feeding the prisoners of war who worked for him against h1tlers law, he avoided a jail sentence for it because he was friends with the mayor, he also helped the occupying troops. Such a shame he died in only 1950. |

| I could imagine it, the tanks coming down the street people under the kitchen table. Them saying "Wollen Sie uns nun töten?" then the british come out and throw candy everywhere. |
