After going 10-6 in the 2011-2012 season, Detroit made the playoffs for the first time since 1999. They may have lost the wildcard game at New Orleans Superdome that night, but making the playoffs revitalized the oranization. Many questions still linger in the air in Detroit, Can Matthew Stafford come back on such an amazing season? Can Ndamukong Suh stay out of trouble with the league? Will Jim Schwartz get his team under control? All of these are good questions that a Detroit Lions fan considers. Matthew Stafford was drafted in the 2009 NFL draft in round one, first overall by the Lions. His first two seasons showed sparks of superstar ability but injurys kept him out of the game. His third season got the fans going and raised ALOT of eyebrows in the league. He eventually ended the season with 41 touchdowns, 16 interceptions, 5,038 passing yards with a 97.2 passer rating. He won NFL Comeback Player of the Year Award. Can he have another season like that? Ndamukong Suh was drafted in the first round, second overall in the 2010 NFL Draft and had a amazing rookie year, making the Pro Bowl. Many expected a superstar season in 2011-2012 but fan were highly dissapointed. He had many fines and suspentions for unsportsmanlike conduct that kept him out of the game. Many ask the question, "Can he play professionally without the trouble?", the 2011-2012 season holds the answer to that question. Finnally, that leads us to Jim Schwartz. He has been a great coach and rebuilder of the Detroit Lions franchise. He has been often regarded as a good coach by Tom Coughlin and Bill Belichek. We know he's a good coach, but the question remains, "Can he get his team under control?" The Detroit Lions had the most personal fouls in the league, mainly on the defensive side. They were and still are regarded as a "dirty team". Jim Schwartz has a full offseason this year to get his team "under control" and get ready for the upcoming season If all these presented questions can be answered positively, exspect the Detroit Lions to be in the Superbowl in the near future. |

| Seems like you've been in a slight coma, Have you took notice that the Saints organization has more experience in the playoffs the past three years than the Lions? |

no i'm not (your obvouisly ethier jealous or your dealer gave you some good stuff) the lions suck(ok then the pats suck too if you want talk about teams in the playoffs and on a historical note lets say the Bills suck 3 SB's and they lost all them so yea i guess they suck too) they went 0-16(who cares over a 3 year span we've been able to improve) and playoff experience?(Bills los the SB 3 times so i'll say we are doing better) smeh(CSB) the ravens won the super bowl the first time they went to the playoffs, and they were the browns before, so they had no playoff experience (Clarfiy on which browns cause if i remeber correctly the browns where actually good when they where orgianlly created then bombed when they became a expansion team so I'll ask this agian which browns era team are you talking about)
accept it the lions suck (lol cuase a team that goes from 0-16 to 10-6 is obvouisly bad) they are a dirty team(gotta problem with it, Ravens hit hard and so willie harris and no one is really compalining) their QB is a china doll(and peyton manning was out for the colts and we still did better their defensive stud is a buttmad child (Last time there where about 10 other ego inflated players like Suh and about 50% are in/going to the hall of fame)

"your obvouisly ethier jealous or your dealer gave you some good stuff" packers: 4 super bowls lions: 1 playoff win yeh im so jelly n burrhurr
"ok then the pats suck too if you want talk about teams in the playoffs and on a historical note lets say the Bills suck 3 SB's and they lost all them so yea i guess they suck too" yes they both suck
"who cares over a 3 year span we've been able to improve" only because you've gotten tons of first overall picks for being so bad
"Bills los the SB 3 times so i'll say we are doing better" they lost those super bowls in the 90's all of those players are retired and they at least won more than one game to get there
"Clarfiy on which browns cause if i remeber correctly the browns where actually good when they where orgianlly created then bombed when they became a expansion team so I'll ask this agian which browns era team are you talking about" the browns that became the ravens, who only had 1 playoff appearance in five years before moving
"lol cuase a team that goes from 0-16 to 10-6 is obvouisly bad" yes, they are
"gotta problem with it, Ravens hit hard and so willie harris and no one is really compalining" the ravens are a tough team the lions stomp on people, and have a bunch of personal fouls, as noted in the original post
"and peyton manning was out for the colts and we still did better" only because stafford wasn't injured when he is injured, 6-10, 4-12
"Last time there where about 10 other ego inflated players like Suh and about 50% are in/going to the hall of fame" name all ten |

Cdawg, I see what you are talking about, but let me clarify some points....
First off all. There is a big difference between dirty and gritty.
Dirty teams take stupid penaltys and hurt the team in the act of said stupid penaltys. Another example of a dirty team that goes after certain players to injure. A few examples of dirty teams are the Raiders, Lions, and Saints.
You can't deny that the Lions are a dirty team, with countless late hit penaltys and the infamous stomp Suh had on Thanksgiving.
Gritty teams are powerfull hard-hitting teams that don't imply on injuring, but getting the fumble.
Some Gritty teams are the Ravens, 49ers, Steelers, some might even say the Texans. |

@deathrange we also 1. won the super bowl the previous year 2. have been dominant in the NFC north for a while now 3. have a god at QB
the lions have none of that this guy even believes the lions have changed logos and uniforms he believes the lions will win the super bowl soon because of one decent season where they had an easy schedule
read that back to yourself the lions, the detroit lions, will win the super bowl |
