I'll be nice, but that is a BAD THING TO SAY. Now, I noticed that this is similar to a famous quote:
"Perfection is reached not when there's nothing left to add, but when there's nothing left to remove."
Now consider me stupid, because I am stupid, can anyone actually understand what they are trying to say by this?

| If they make you look at a picture of an old man staring at you for 5 minutes, then they should remove it. Telamon would like it, but nobody else. |

I understand that you should remove stuff to improve something, but they want to simplify ROBLOX?
That doesn't make any sense! The only complex part of ROBLOX, to many users, is programming. I am pretty worried that they will edit Lua so that it works similar to Scratch.

| Well, you have a faulty system. You don't just let the system stay there, you remove it. Quite simple, really, no idea why everyone is so confused. :/ |

| It seems to me that they're just removing the ambassador program... |

It's because you're stupid.
But really: I totally agree with the quote you included: "Perfection is reached not when there's nothing left to add, but when there's nothing left to remove."
The most elegant systems are the ones that have nothing other than what they need, and have what they do need organized in the best way possible. Having unnecessary complexity is fine and interesting in an esoteric context, but not whet you actually want to get stuff done.
Unfortunately it's not possible to make the Roblox scripting API better by removing stuff (Just a random example off the top of my head: SurfaceInputs) since it's been built organically and for a non-technical audience which can't deal with a breaking-change to the API. |

Simplifying the ROBLOX API would only create more people who don't know how to create pseudo stuff that they need.
Not that some of ROBLOX's solutions aren't Pseudo.

| I don't necessarily mean removing features when I say the "simplest solution", I just mean reducing the API down to the optimal balance of having the functionality being exposed in the most direct way possible, and having the functionality be as usable as possible. |

| Thus, Libraries. Get a simple API, then add in the stuff you want. :D |

That's why I'm taking so song to get the gear-lib made. I have to find the most elegant API for all the things that it's to do, and decide what things it should be doing at all in the first place.
If you haven't read it this is a good example of just how much thought has to go into a given piece of it: http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=62638923 |
