| I think I may of gotten a virus. I went on a link to a website that someone posted in the comments section of a hat without thinking. After visiting a weird laugh sound played and I figured it was nothing. Today the laugh played again and roblox logged me out. I tried to log in but my login info was changed. I reset the info and logged back in. WAT DO?!?!?! You are the smartest people on here, Is it possible I got a virus just from visiting a link? |

Just visiting a webpage can't give you a virus, unless you do some action to accept something.
First, change your pw and make sure your em@il is the right one. Then, log out (if someone is connected to your account, it will log out that person too). Then, log back in and you're safe.
And, just in case, run a virus scan. It's always good to run one, anyways. |

Oh, and, just so I can verify something, could you PM me the link?
I'm not scared of getting a virus from a webpage, considering how much I exaggerated with my security settings in my browser (I mean, there isn't a single activated plugin, even flash is deactivated. I only activate a plugin when I need it and deactivate it right after). |

| It asked to run java, I clicked yes without even thinking. Usually I'm much more cautious but I let my guard down one time. The scan is saying "There are signs of malicious software on your computer". I've already reset all my info (the P word is blocked) for email, roblox and facebook. |

They can if you aren't using a modern browser. Or IE. |

"It asked to run java, I clicked yes without even thinking."
Mystery solved. If you accept to let it run Java, then you're obviously doomed.
"All I have is Microsoft Security Essentials, this is a relatively new computer and I haven't purchased anything better yet."
You don't need to purchase something "better". That "something better" will just slow down your PC and stuff, usually. Microsft Security Essentials is perfectly fine, and it's actually the antivirus I use.
You just need to be careful and you're completely fine. Personally, I wouldn't even need an antivirus... but that's because I'm overcareful. Websites can't even display videos with flash on my browser... |

"I'm on Firefox"
As long as you're either on Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera or Safari, you should be fine. If you're on anything else, especially if you're on IE, reconsider your choice of browser. :P
Anyways, who would use another browser than Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome? I mean, they're the best browsers that currently exist, and everyone knows that... right? |

| Thanks for all the help, Im fairly certain it wasnt too serious of a virus otherwise it wouldnt be playing a laughing sound at random intervals. My antivirus software should remove it. |

Press Windows+R and type "msconfig", then press enter.
Then, look in the startup tab or something like that and disable everything that you have never heard of.
You might want to look in the services tab too. Click the checkbox that says "mask all microsoft service" or something like that and look in the services left. If you don't recognize one of them, disable it.
Once you did that, apply the changes and reboot.
msconfig usually shows everything that runs at startup, so you should be able to disable the virus if it runs when the computer starts. |

Or reboot the computer in safe mode and run a virus check then. |

@TheMyrco
nuu! give it to the birds! They deserve it more!
Try the latest game for the iPhone, named "Feed the Angry Birds"!
In this game, you are a pig. A green pig. The goal is to go to random websites, get worms, run virus scans and then give the worms to the angry birds so that they leave you and the other pigs alone. Sounds like fun, amirite? |

It will eat it, not be infected with it. But since there is a risk....feed it to the iBird. |
