Anyone here yesterday will know what I'm talking about.

Lots of young children lie about their age when they sign up.

That's a fact that _can't_ be avoided.

However, you CAN at LEAST give them a decent punishment.

Yesterday someone was allowed to spam this forum multiple times with useless posts, not using the search bar, using absolutely horrific spelling and grammar, and then proceed to spamming people's private messages with things like:

"LOL U LITEL BABEY"

Seriously, people like this should NOT be allowed to roam free and harrass people on the internet. They're _obviously_ not 13, and therefore unless they've got a parent account allowing them to do it (Yeah they can make a parent account, but again we can't stop that) they should have the following privileges revoked:

Messaging
Foruming
Commenting on places
Making new accounts.

This might sound harsh, but it's the only way. They shouldn't be doing it anyway, since 1-3 are all MEANT to be __ENFORCED__ to ensure compliance with their kiddy agreements like COPPA and such, and 4 should be enforced anyway for everyone.

I'm actually not with you. Know why? Most sites, regardless of maturity, will only let you actually communicate on the internet if you're older than thirteen years of age. I find it somewhat nauseating as it completely blocks me from adequate communication. It also takes away my right to voice my opinion publicly along with punishing those who say their actual age. Yes, it's there to protect children but it's a pathetic way of doing so. Another way to help is moderating, in some cases I despise it but it's often needed. If ROBLOX is a kid's game site, why only allow adolescents to effectively use it?

Thek00lkid,

I'm referring not to under 13s as a whole, because I'm pretty sure you just asserted you are in that crowd,

Well yeah, a lot of under 13s are mature enough (Like you) to look like actual civilised people.

Most of them are just general jerks with no sense of logic, no initiative, completely ignores things like sticky posts, etc.

What I should've said rather than generalising the under 13 crowd, is to say something like anyone immature enough to the point where it's OBVIOUS that they're a young child should be muted permanently. It's annoying and they're supposed to be doing it anyway to abide by rules of COPPA and such.

Yeah, I agree in that sense. Most websites aren't very effective with their 'Report Abuse' systems. In several cases, it's simply a lack of staff, but it may also be linked to the fact that if they ban or mute an account they can sometimes get into trouble. That kind of thing I find very annoying. I think about a month or two of muting is good punishment for cases such as spamming. Also, they didn't even bother ridding Jarevaldez4! He even has an account called copyingmachine that copies his account billions of times and all the clones have Builders Club. I don't get why the mods don't do anything about it. >_<

You have obviously not read COPPA, or even looked at what it's an acronym for. It's the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. It is about privacy - what information is collected from children, and how it's used, and the gist of it is, "Be open about your information collecting practices, and make a reasonable effort to communicate this to parents of children under 13"

This post is suggesting draconian measures. Making spam essentially a permanent ban is a little bit much.

It's not effectively a permanent ban.

I'm referring to the people who come on this forum and post something like this (This actually happened yesterday)

"ban der w0rd noob"

"well i tink u shold ban the wurd noob, coz its not nice"

(replies)

(OP:)
"OMG U NOOBS SHUT UP DIS IS GOOD IDEA"

And honestly, he WASN'T trolling. He's THAT stupid. I know a troll when I see one, this isn't one.

People like this should NOT be able to communicate as they CANNOT communicate constructive points. That's what I mean by the post.

If it's not immediately obvious, I'll point out

His idea was banning the word noob. When people basically insulted him for spamming (He'd made previous posts which were all just as ridiculous) he then proceeded to call them 'noobs'.

Age has NOTHING to do with maturity. I know a 19 year old who can't be trusted with a match. When he's near fire he goes crazy and brings all sorts of random objects to burn and starts singing. You could trust me with an RPG and C4. Even like 49 year olds should be banned for your reason, not just kids, in order to proceed with remodeling Roblox's community.

I'm under 13. I'm mature enough. Tengo un problemo, officer?

I agree, Roblox should be MUCH stricter. So much even, that, well, I know they need money and young kids play, but they should perma ban people for even saying "noob". That's just my opinion.

Roblox community stinks.

@SN0X
that is the worst idea ever.
i mean, banning someone for saying "noob"?
the only insult that i use on robloxian jerks is "noob".
also, in destroy the noob games, to regen da noob you have to say noob.
you want me to be banned for regening?

Banning mild insults is another extreme. It is ridiculously annoying. I don't suggest it because it often leads to the point where you can't say anything negative. Communication is pointless if you can't express your full thought.

I don't think it should completely cut them off from successful communication. That's about as close to ROBLitler as you can get.
But if they are banned in a harsh way, they should have these revoked.

how bout for people over 13 they ALSO have to pass a maturity test with questions like
"How would you respond to this?

Im a troll, falalalalala I want to eats your mind"

Then eventually Roblox would check his answer and see if its good enough.
(Truthfully I would respond, can you please stop?)

No! This is labor intensive, ineffective (response bias), and enforcing a something subjective.

(And the correct answer is not responding...)

This is why parents should make accounts and outlaw communication untill the age of 13.
