In football, it is 45 minutes of almost non-stop play, apart from fouls, injuries, subsitutions which only take a few seconds, ect. and with a 15 minute break during the middle.
In Gridiron football, HOWEVER, there are continual breaks every time after a single play, and incredible long quater and half breaks, aswell as time-outs, which are just for wimps.
You may say our Football, or 'Soccer', is boring because of our low score lines, but that is because we do single goals = one 'point', not various points.

| He constantly makes threads about the name of soccer, and thinks that EVERYBODY should call it football. He also thinks every other kind of football is boring. |

I do respect it, this is one of the few reasons it isn't my favourite sport.
I am expressing the sport.
Please note, I still like the sport, just expressing my views on it.

| If we all called it "football" instead of soccer, people would get confused with the names. Btw, this is just your opinion. |

"In football, it is 45 minutes of almost non-stop play, apart from fouls, injuries, subsitutions which only take a few seconds, ect. and with a 15 minute break during the middle."
So? Soccer is just a bunch of clears and headers for 90 minutes. It's only non-stop because the inventors of the sport are so dumb, they can't even stop a clock! xD

Gridiron football is a very tough sport. People can die playing it. It still happens today (almost always in high school), and also, breaks are needed to call plays, set up the play, and time-outs are in every sport except soccer.
Also, there are more scores in our football ANYWAY. Let's compare a 21-17 gridiron game to a 1-0 soccer game.
1-0 soccer game: ONE goal in ninety minutes. 21-17 football game: 6 scores in 60 minutes.
That is an average of one score per ninety minutes for soccer, and a score every ten minutes for the gridiron game.

Yes, it is my opinion. And you have your opinion on why Football is boring. I was hoping some of you could try and reason with me how Gridiron football isn't boring, but none of you have bothered.
And california, you wouldn't get confused if you call it the offical name, AMERICAN FOOTBALL OR GRIDIRON FOOTBALL, INSTEAD OF JUST FOOTBALL.
Duh! |

Lets say I made a thread saying "Do you like football?" People STILL wouldn't tell if I was talking about gridiron football. |

| So you are expecting EVERY American to call it American football or gridiron football? America has been calling the sport "football" for a while. I think it would be wierd to call it 'gridiron football' or 'american football' after so long calling it 'football'. |
