Spanish is has "genders" associated with the words. El is used of the noun is masculine, and the adjectives following will end with an "o." La is used if it is feminine (lolwatchmegetbanned) and the adjectives following will end with an "a."
Rosa es muy alta. Gao es muy bajo.
El tele`fono esta sonando. Yo miro la programa de CNN en la noche. |

| I just double checked, he is right. Problema and programa are masculine thus "el" would be used. Love irregular words like that. X_X |

Yea,I know I know portuguese(main language),spanish,french,english and a bit of german. And I think(I may be wrong) it's "le" instead of "la" because "problema" is a male word. |

Not all words than end with "a" are female. |
