Looking through the types of games, I noticed something: All of the game genres, barring Wild West and Skate Park, have at least one game that generally has 100+ people in it, some even breaking 1000. Skate Parks have the obvious repetition that comes with, so it is understandable why those are generally a less popular genre of games. But why Wild West?
What do you think is the reason that they are played less- they have the ability to combine aspects of war, social, and other types of games, so it seems like it would be naturally popular?
When building a Wild West game, what do you think would make it stand out and become popular? If you saw a Wild West game on the front page, do you imagine that it would be a game where people have duels and brawl, or more of a social life in rural/desert settings? What would you do or want to see in a Wild West genre game? |

Do you want to know why?
They are freaking boring! How can you play as a cowboy, when you cannot even ride a horse?! |

| It might take a bit of time and effort, but if the player knew what they were doing, I'm sure a ride-able horse could definitely be created. I agree that having classic elements like steeds could be an important aspect of a good Wild West game. |

The problem with Wild West games is the fact that they do not follow any particular gaming scheme.
I've never seen an Wild West FPS - but I doubt that it would be very interesting. |

| I had thought of that disadvantage as adaptability and giving designers a variety of options. The game could take a variety of stances, from mining to battles to socialization. Others see that as a drawback? I guess I can see a problem or two in it. So you don't think there is any kind of Wild West themed game that would be good? |

I am pretty sure it would be quite dull, unless you have an "amazingly" good story to backup the game you are making.
A Wild West game is pretty limited - even if you could create the features in a stereotypical wild west game.

I have seen a Western FPS. It's called Call of Juarez, and it is god-awful.
But yeah, some wild west games like Red Dead on Roblox would be pretty cool. |
