Note: The year of the story has been changed from 1849 to 1862 for Tech reasons.
24th February 1862. 4:00pm. Fort Emerex-The keep.
Lieutenant LordCopper looked around, dazed as the survivors of the onslaught fought for their lives against the swarms of John’s Cobras. They were down to less than a 100 TRA soldiers, yet they fought on against the thousands upon thousands of JC. Crimson red blood spattered the young officers Green coat, he did not know whether it was the enemies or his own. He did not care. He looked down at his Officers dress sword in his hand, dripping discreetly with blood. He looked up as he heard a rifle shot pierce the loud, awful sounds of battle. People screaming in agony, others desperately fighting with their rifle bayonets, swords, whatever they could find. A man walked in front of the Lieutenant, gurgling. Lieutenant Lordcopper recognized him as Private Daggersd, one of his favourite soldiers, a talented swordsman and pretty good with a firearm. He noticed dimly that the Private was clutching at something on his throat, or in it. Blood seamed from where his hands desperately grabbed at. The man dropped to his knees, still gurgling. LordCopper suddenly filled with rage. Rage at John’s Cobras, rage at himself, rage at war. He lifted his sword up and scanned the view surrounding him, looking for an unoccupied enemy. He spotted a Burly man, using his Remington Model 1858 Rifle as a club. The man hit a TRA soldier in the jaw, sending a spurt of blood flying and knocking the man unconscious. This made LordCopper even more uncontrollably mad. He ran at the JC, who was industriously beating the unconscious man into a bloody mess. He was completely unaware of Lieutenant LordCopper charging at him, about to put a sword through him. The Lieutenant swung the sword when in range, giving a satisfying thump when it buried itself in the Burly JC’s neck, nearly decapitating him. He smiled grimly as the body slumped to the floor in a heap. “LOOK OUT SIR!” Was shouted sharply by a nearby Corporal. Lieutenant LordCopper turned around quickly, raising his sword for immediate danger. He was too late, a sudden wave of pain bursting in his stomach. He looked down with shock, to see the end of a bayonet protruding from his stomach. He looked up to see a John’s Cobra smiling, like he had after killing the burly soldier. The JC wrenched out the bayonet, bringing out a gasp from the Lieutenant. The soldier violently kicked the Lieutenant to floor, stood over him and plunged the bayonet into the mans neck. Another corpse of the war.
26th February 1862 5:48pm. Outpost Sapphire, 5 Miles from the Recon Assault Team- UAF border.
Vortex Security Corporal VERT752 whistled happily to himself in the small prison cell. From his position, he could hear the small scuffles between RT and what sounded like VS soldiers. The cell was dark, and dusty. A hallway led to a staircase leading up into the main building of the Outpost, where VERT could hear the regular chatting of RT soldiers. He was here with a small UAF squadron when the RT regiment had came, laying waste to the outpost and its inhabitants. The UAF soldiers who had survived the attack had been hung outside the outpost on trees, to let people in the distance know that trouble laid here. Corporal VERT didn’t know why he was spared the indignity of being left to rot and picked at by the birds. He assumed it was because of his uniform, RT wanted no trouble with Vortex Security. He laughed as he realized the RT had got the exact opposite. He turned on his straw bed when he heard a small crash from the directions of the stairs to see a RT soldier falling headfirst on to the landing from the stairs. He smirked, VERT loved violence. He was the familiar, battle hardened face of Colonel Teslobo pop out from the staircase, making VERT abruptly get up and stiffen to attention, still smirking at the corpse of the RT. As Colonel Teslobo made eye contact, VERT saluted, while giving Teslobo a friendly smile, which Teslobo repeated. “Eh, what are you doing here in this dump?” Teslobo said, eyeing the mud-caked rags that VERT wore, making him look like a common beggar in the slums of Vulcan. “Some daft officer decided to post me here, conveniently the day before those RT invaded. Lucky me, hm sir?” VERT replied, still maintaining the smile. “Yeah, lucky you. Private, get that cell open” Teslobo barked at a nearby private who was looking idly at the ceiling. “Yessir” The private said, shocked at the sudden order. The private walked over to the cell, and starting bashing it with the butt of his Henry Model rifle. The door swung in, nearly hitting VERT. “Watch it!” Corporal VERT snapped, angry at nearly having a door smashed into his face. “Private, give him your rifle, NOW!” Teslobo ordered. “Y-Yessir” The private stumbled. “ ‘Right then, I reckon we should go, let the UAF clear up this place, seeming it is their’s.” Colonel Teslobo said softly, beckoning for the 2 soldiers to follow him. They started ascending the stairs, until a RT suddenly appeared at the top, brandishing a revolver. The soldier screamed, and started randomly shooting down the stairs, not bothering to take aim. “GET BACK DOWN THE STAIRS” Teslobo screamed, pulling out his own Colt Special Model revolver. The private accompanying him screamed as he fell down the stairs, nearly crushed as VERT fell down the stairs, caught in the chest by a bullet. “Ah, bugger…” VERT muttered, feeling the wound and trying to stem the blood flow.He felt the private clambering underneath, trying to push him off. He rolled off him, bringing a new wave of pain.He laid there, trying to ignore the pain. He noticed the gunshots had stopped, and peered dully up the stairs to see Teslobo hurriedly coming down the stairs toward them. VERT’s vision started to blur, saying “G-get a….medic” before completely blacking out.
End of part 3.
