If you want some better terrain editing plugin stuff, I here's a copy of mine:
http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/User:XLEGOx/terrainedit
Has full support for nice things like copy/paste with the "grab" tool (c = copy, v = paste, x = cut, b = delete (for some reason I can't get the keypress for "delete", so I can't use that key)), and you can undo anything by pressing "z" at any time using the tools. |

@Stravant
mouse.KeyDown:connect(function(key) print(key:byte()) end)
That didn't work?? ^

| What I mean is, the delete keypress gets "stolen" by the Roblox engine somewhere internally, so KeyDown doesn't get it. |

| I _can_ use a hack where I keep the Roblox-side Game.Selection on some part, and listen for it being removed, but that's too much of a hack for my taste. |

If you wanna do anything cool on Roblox, it will require something incredibly ugly and hackish because there's no support for anything nice :) Just use your workaround

There's enough hacks in it already. If you look at the bit that implements the dragging, I have to progressively hide pieces of the section "drilling through" it to find the true piece that the mouse is hovering over, so that I can move the grabbed cells there. Then there's the added complication that if the stuff I'm dragging happens to over-write the stuff the mouse is hovering on, I still want the mouse to think it's hovering on that stuff, so I have to also keep a big list of the "maybe deleted" stuff to do that.
Then there's extrude, with it's ugly massive lookup table to decide how a part should look when it's extruded in a given direction. |

One tiny hack won't hurt then :) It's amazing looking as-is right now.

I can't imagine how awesome the plugins we'd have would be if the devs let you write plugins that would go in the BuiltInPlugins folder. |

@Julien
I'd still delete that folder ;) No offense to the admins, they just get in the way and spam my output with RUNNING THIS SCRIPT, RUNNING THAT SCRIPT

Those are some nice terrain editing tools there, but I don't like how the extrude option lags hard when I set the radius to 3 or 4. |

What? The extrude option doesn't even have a radius option. At any rate, I can extrude a good 50x50 area without much lag. |

| Ooooh I see what you mean. The paint tool used to be like that too, I must have forgotten to add the patch I did to that to the eraser, thanks. |

| not to sound noobish (I'm good at scripting) but where do I implement your script? just straight into a script in studio or does it go into a .lua file in the plugins folder? |

Nvm I got it to work. It's Awsome! Thanks :)
Do you know of any good Cframe Plugins? I'd try to make one but I don't really have the time to currently. |
