I've had this idea for quite a while now. Not very hard to script. In fact, it's probably one of the easiest scripts to make. Basically, the game is played by pictures of places.
I create several areas where the character should be able to travel, take screenshots of it, then use Paint[dot]net to edit it. There would be probably thousands of these pictures, with text describing what the player is looking at, and where they can go next.
The only scripts I really need are:
- A click-script: E.g; If the player wants to go west, there's an arrow that points to the left, and you can click it. Once it is clicked, a picture opens up, revealing the area the player has discovered. This would also be used for combat. For example, if I want to swing my sword, I would click "Swing Sword" and the next frame would pop up. The next frame is described below.
- Randomizer Script: For battling with monsters, this script would open up a random page between pages A and G. Each of these pages would contain details such as whether you hurt the creature, whether the creature hurt you, whether you died, whether it died, etc.
That's really all I need. |

I think I get what you mean, I've seen one other thing like it however, it was mostly a text-based game with just a couple of pictures. Which if you were to make a text-based game, I think you would have a lot more fun with it.
@question about making a script for you
Nobody is seriously going to put in all that work for you. Scripting is a lot more challenging to do than you think and twice as rewarding. If you really want this done, go to wiki.roblox.com and learn how to script yourself. |

| @SDuke; That is the problem. The scripting would take probably a month to learn just this simple script, and I fear I'll be quitting Roblox by then. I want this to be a final project before I go. |

@Purely
1. That isn't a simple script at all. 2. Unless there's some specific reason why you have to quit by that time, learning to script might actually keep you from quitting. It's surprisingly fun and will change the entire experience of roblox for you. Heck, I thought about quitting multiple times, then I got deeper and deeper into scripting. |

| @SDuke; By the way, can you explain why it is such a difficult script? I mean, I see buttons all over the place that are pointed at a TV, and when clicked or touched, the decal on the TV changes. |

| It's not so difficult to script as it is to make. It'll take a long, long, long time to make all the arrays. Also your battling thing would be fairly difficult as well. |

| @SDuke; So the scripting part isn't very difficult. It's the number of scripts and bricks and stuff? |

| Why are you using bricks? I thought you said you would be doing this via gui. |

@SDuke; No, no. Not GUI. Just a large brick displaying decals. On certain parts of that brick are invisible bricks for the player to click. Perhaps that is why you thought this would be difficult.
Well, the bricks would be used to make the different scenes, where I take the screenshots. Then I would edit the screenshots into different decals that look like paintings, to give the player the feeling as if they were reading a story. No GUIs at all. |

| @SDuke; Oh, no. It is a game. It's just not made of GUIs. It's a mouse-based game. No GUIs. You click buttons to advance in the game. |
