My marks are terrible so far this year, too many things have happened to cause it. I have a broken nose that is causing sleep apnea that needs to be fixed, and I have hardly learned anything this year due to that. So I was thinking of just repeating. :o

Where are you from?
Where I am you can't just re-do a grade because your barley passing. They need to decide it. And you either get the marks or not. But that could just be for me. |

I think its cool that you want to repeat it because you want to learn,NOT because you want to simply pass a grade. Your choice. |

| Why would you want to repeat a grade? I'm glad I'm done with 11th grade. |

The trouble is, the authorities of my school would NEVER consent to me repeating. However, I am passing more courses, but just barely.
I know that if I go into grade 12 with the knowledge I have now, not only will I have to deal with scholarships, but I will not be ready for the classes. I need an extra year, and I would much rather it be grade 11, then grade 12. |

This would also show up on your record.
Repeating grades don't go well with good colleges. |

Teachers, administrators, and principles of schools have become jaded to assume that all students simply want to pass, or want a good grade, and will want to quit if it becomes tough. I am not quitting, I won't even drop out of this semester, I want to collect as many credits as I can, even before repeating my grade once more.
The problem is, they see me as just quitting.
"Oh, he thinks it's too hard, so he just wants to fail, rather than try to pass."
That's not it. I would much rather fail a course than pass with a 60 and learn nothing. Especially at this crucial point of education. This is what matters to universities and colleges, marks wise, and knowledge wise. |
