I'm wanting to build a custom gaming PC. I've pretty much designated what I want, and I need to know if I'm getting a good deal, if I'm missing something, or if something isn't compatible. I'm not going to post all of the specs for each thing, so you'll have to look them up.

Unless you want something to happen, like your computer catching on fire or smoking, I suggest that your PSU to be atleast 650W, Corsair or Antec recommended. I have a 750W one for almost the same configuration.

Also, why the Super Computer Motherboard? it has the wrong socket. A P8P67 Pro would work just as fine for half the price. The processor is ideal. I would say, take the 200 odd dollars that you would save on the motherboard and get RAM at a higher frequency, 2133/2200 MHZ maybe? + upgrade PSU. If you have any cash left, I would try to get a HDD at a higher disk rate.

The specs on the motherboard says it supports Intel i7 processors, though :P

I don't know an offsite forum to put this, and even if I did, I don't feel like creating an account right now.

"Private seller on eBay"

I would honestly not trust eBay. Unless you want to go through with that chance that the item you're getting from the buying actually works.

I'm making sure that the seller is trustable. The seller I may buy the RAM from has a lifetime warranty on it. I'm getting everything else from another seller, and they both have very high ratings.

Anyway, I'm debating between 2 motherboards:

ASUS Maximus IV Extreme-Z ROG Motherboard - $359.99
ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Intel Z68 Board - $219.99

I'm leaning towards the first one, even though it's almost $150 more.

Its rather useless to get a higher end motherboard when your other components are not upto specifications. Just saying. Also if you are going to buy components and build it yourself or something, I would order them from tigerdirect.

Alright, so I'll get the second motherboard, and that should be fine. Also, Sorcus, the CompUSA site says "Powered by TigerDirect" at the top.

Because overall TigerDirect is arguably the best site to start building your PC. Atleast in the states.

I just want a convenient, trusty way to get my parts. My dad is paranoid about ordering things from unfamiliar sites. Also, I don't think I'll need any help except for my dad, and maybe in here once in a while.

Anyway, I need to know the best way to go about getting the parts. Should I collect the parts over time, or just save up for a while and buy it all at once?

But by the time I get enough money for it, I could get much higher quality stuff at the same price as these.

Then again, if I buy them over time, I won't know if they work or not until it's too late.
