******************** INTRODUCTION ********************
Welcome to the Dungeon of Powergrab roleplay, a competitive team game where
your goal is to reach the end of the dungeon, and collect the reward that
awaits you.
You will be split into teams of four, and will choose from the twelve
classes below. Once a class is taken, it cannot be chosen again!
You may choose to fight the opposing teams, or work together, but know this
- at the end, there can only be one winner.
******************** RULES - Roleplaying ********************
There will not be a preset character sheet, but feel free to fluff up your
character as you see fit.
I will be using a random number generator to decide what happens. When the
dice fall, that's what happens.
I have a system to reward good roleplayers. Roleplaying well might turn an
otherwise fatal blow into something that merely drops you to one health.
In terms of what I throw at you, I will hold nothing back.
No metagaming. If I have a feeling you are using knowledge your character
would not know to your advantage, I will make your character's day worse.
If you attempt an illegal action, you simply lose the action, as I cannot
afford to waste time having people redo moves and posts and such.
******************** RULES - Gameplay ********************
Whomever posts first, gets the first action.
When you attack an enemy, say "I attack _____", and I will make a roll of 1
to 10 (1d10) to see if it hits, accounting for various bonuses and
defenses. Defenses are calculated in this method: (Natural, Evasion, Armor,
Shield)
If the number is within the Natural range, you take no damage, and the
attack misses. If it is in the Evasion range, you take 1/4 damage. If it is
in the Armor range, you take 1/3 damage. If it is in the Shield range, you
take 1/2 damage. If it gets past all ofthese, you take full damage.
Eample: Enemy rolls a 10 to attack, you have 4 natural defense, 0 evasion
defense, 6 armor defense, and 4 shield defense. Enemy rolls to deal 4
damage, so you take 1 damage (all numbers round down.)
If you want to do something else, just say you do something else, like "I
use the Beserker's Rage skill", or "I climb the ladder", or "I move here".
Remember, if it is not possible, the action is wasted, so be careful.
When you drop to 0 health, and cannot do anything to get above 0 health,
you die. Death is permanent, bar certain circumstances that will not appear
early on.
There are experience points and levels, which I will keep track of
seperately. You will never know how much experience you have, but you will
be notified when you level up, which gives you bonuses to stats and a
selection of new skills and spells to choose from.
******************** RULES - Teams ******************** There are 3 teams, with 4 players each.
Once you have your team, you cannot get new players. If someone drops out,
I will take control of the character, until a replacement arrives. If the
character dies, he dies.
You will select the below 12 classes to fill your teams. They can only be
chosen once, first come, first served.
Team roster is below, followed by class list.
Team A 1. 2. 3. 4.
Team B 1. 2. 3. 4.
Team C 1. 2. 3. 4.
******************** Beserker
Starting Stats: Health - 40 Attack Bonus - 2 Natural Defense - 4
Starting Items: Greataxe - 4 to 12 (3d4) damage Hide Armor - 4 armor defense
Spellcasting: This class cannot cast spells.
Initial Skillset:
Rage (Active) - For 5 posts, gain +20 health, +2 attack bonus, +2 natural
defense bonus, and +4 damage.
Cleave (Selective passive) - You can make consecutive attacks, each one
having a -(number of attacks * 3) penalty to attack.
Aspect of the Animal (Selective daily passive) - Every day, you choose an
animal that gives you bonuses to your stats.
(Tiger) gives +2 attack bonus, and +1 damage.
(Bear) gives +10 health, and +2 damage.
(Turtle) gives +25 health, and +2 natural defense. ********************
******************** Oracle
Starting Stats: Health - 10 Attack Bonus - 0 Natural Defense - 0
Starting Items: Dagger - 1 to 4 (1d4) damage Robe - no armor defense, +1 damage when using skills
Spellcasting: You can get access to (your level * 2) spells at once. Once you reach this
limit, you cannot get any new spells. You learn spells by reading scrolls
that explain the spells, and can use this to switch spells. You can only
learn spells that affect sight, or knowledge.
Initial Skillset:
Foresight; Battle (daily active, spell) - Once per day, you can look into
the future to see when the next battle for your allies will be.
Read Movements (passive) - You get +(10 + (level * 2)) evasion defense,
because you can tell what the opponent will do based on their movements.
(Meaning, at first level, you would get +12 evasion defense.)
Find Opening (active, spell) - You give a +3 attack bonus against a target
enemy to a target ally. ********************
******************** Rogue
Starting Stats: Health - 20 Attack Bonus - 4 Natural Defense - 2
Starting Items: 2 daggers - 1 to 4 (1d4) damage each Studded Leather Armor - 2 armor defense
Spellcasting: This class cannot cast spells.
Initial Skillset:
Backstab (passive) - If you attack an enemy that is not using an action
against you, you deal an extra 2 to 8 damage (2d4) to them, and interrupt
the use of any skills they may be attempting to use.
Trapbreaker (active) - You can disable traps. To do so, you make a check
(1d6) to find the trap, and another check (1d6) to disable the trap.
Hide (active) - You can hide. The enemy, or enemies, automatically make a
check (1d6) to notice you every post. If one enemy notices you, they all
notice you. While hidden, actions cannot be taken on you. Taking an action
that is not movement makes you noticed. ********************
******************** Soldier
Starting Stats: Health - 30 Attack Bonus - 5 Natural Defense - 5
Starting Items: Longsword - 1 to 6 (1d6) damage Full Plate - 6 armor defense Heavy Shield - 3 shield defense
Spellcasting: This class cannot cast spells.
Initial Skillset:
Shield Bash (active) - If an enemy is targeting you, you can use your turn
to interrupt their next attack, at the cost of all shield defense against
incoming attacks.
Charge (active) - You instantly move to an enemy and attack, dealing (total
defense / 2) damage. (example - At first level, you would deal 7 damage).
This can be used once every three posts, unless there is nobody around you,
in which case it can be used again.
Defend (active) - If an ally is attacked, you can take the attack for them,
using your defense and health. ********************
******************** Ranger
Starting Stats: Health - 20 Attack Bonus - 6 Natural Defense - 2
Starting Items: Shortbow - 1 to 6 (1d6) damage, ranged Chain Shirt - 2 armor defense Dagger - 1 to 4 (1d4) damage
Spellcasting: You can get access to (your level - 5) spells at once. If this number is
below 1, you cannot use spells. You can only learn spells that affect
nature, and once you learn a spell, you cannot unlearn it. You learn spells
by seeing them in action.
Initial Skillset:
Eagle-Eyed (passive) - You gain +2 to checks to see hidden objects or
enemies.
Precision (active) - You take no actions on the post this skill is used.
Next post, you can make an attack with a +(level * 2) attack bonus and
double damage.
Trapbreaker (active) - You can disable traps. To do so, you make a check
(1d6) to find the trap, and another check (1d6) to disable the trap. ********************
******************** Sorcerer
Starting Stats: Health - 10 Attack Bonus - 4 Natural Defense - 0
Starting Items: Dagger - 1 to 4 (1d4) damage Robe - no armor defense, +1 damage when using skills or spells
Spellcasting: You can get access to (your level + 3) spells at once. Once you reach this
limit, you cannot get any new spells. You cannot undo your spell selection.
You learn spells by seeing them in action.
Initial Skillset:
Magical Armor (spell, active) - For three rounds, your target ally gets
+(4+level) armor defense. (At first level, this is 5 armor defense.)
Acidic Spit (spell, active) - Shoot an acid ball out of your mouth at the
target enemy. If it hits, deal 2 to 3 (1d2+1) damage for every level you
have.
Illusory Double (spell, daily active) - Once per day, you can create a
double image of yourself. Your double image has your stats, but cannot deal
damage, and all attacks against it are automatically successful. Once it is
at 0 health, it fades away. ********************
******************** Wizard
Starting Stats: Health - 10 Attack Bonus - 2 Natural Defense - 2
Starting Items: Dagger - 1 to 4 (1d4) damage Robe - no armor defense, +1 damage when using skills or spells
Spellcasting: You can get access to (your level * 2) spells at once. Once you reach this
limit, you cannot get any new spells. You learn spells by reading scrolls
that explain the spells, and can use this to switch spells.
Initial Skillset:
Preparation (passive) - If you have any buffing spells, they are
automatically applied to you for as long as you have them available.
Shocking Steel (spell, active) - You can make an ally's weapon deal an
extra +2 damage of electricity.
Mend (spell, active) - You can heal an ally for 1 health. ********************
******************** Paladin
Starting Stats: Health - 30 Attack Bonus - 4 Natural Defense - 4
Starting Items: Shortsword - 1 to 6 (1d6) damage Scaled Armor - 5 armor defense
Spellcasting: You can get access to (your level - 5) spells at once. If this number is
below 1, you cannot use spells. You can only learn spells that count as
"holy", or ones that heal wounds, and once you learn a spell, you cannot
unlearn it. You learn spells by seeing them in action.
Initial Skillset:
Weapon of Light (passive) - Your weapon deals +3 damage to monsters, and +6
extra damage to undead or shadow-based monsters.
Healing Hands (daily active) - Three times per day, you can heal an ally
for 15 health.
Resistance (passive) - You are unable to be magically controlled. ********************
******************** Bard
Starting Stats: Health - 20 Attack Bonus - 3 Natural Defense - 2
Starting Items: Rapier - 1 to 6 (1d6) damage Chain Shirt - 2 armor defense
Spellcasting: You can get access to 5 spells at once. You can only learn spells that
affect sound. You learn a spell by reading a scroll that explains the
spell, and can use this to replace spells.
Initial Skillset:
Diplomat (passive) - When speaking to someone in an attempt to get them to
do something, you get +3 to checks made to convince them to do what you
want.
Attuned Ear (passive) - You get +3 to checks made to sense deceit and to
notice someone that is hiding.
Inspiring Song (daily active) - Three times per day, you can give all of
your allies +10 health, and +1 attack bonus. ********************
******************** Priest
Starting Stats: Health - 10 Attack Bonus - 2 Natural Defense - 4
Starting Items: Dagger - 1 to 4 (1d4) damage Robe - no armor defense, +1 damage when using skills or spells
Spellcasting: You can get access to (your level * 2) spells at once. Once you reach this
limit, you cannot get any new spells. You learn spells by reading scrolls
that explain the spells, and can use this to switch spells. You can only
learn spells that count as "holy", or ones that heal wounds.
Initial Skillset:
Minor Healing (spell, active) - You heal a target ally for 5 health.
Beacon of Light (spell, active) - You create a sphere of light to see in
dark areas.
Deathblock (daily, spell, active) - Once per day, if an ally drops to or
below 0 health, you can heal them for (1+(level/2) health per turn, while
keeping them alive. ********************
******************** Monk
Starting Stats: Health - 20 Attack Bonus - 4 Natural Defense - 4
Starting Items: Robe - no armor defense, +1 damage when using skills or spells
Spellcasting: This class cannot cast spells.
Initial Skillset:
Unarmed Opponent - (passive) Your unarmed attacks do 1 to 8 (1d8) damage.
You cannot use normal weapons.
Whirlwind of Blows - (passive) You can attack (1 + (level / 4)) times per
post (1 at first level)
Sundering Strike - (active) You can keep an opponent from moving once per
post. ********************
******************** Knight
Starting Stats: Health - 20 Attack Bonus - 2 Natural Defense - 1
Starting Items: Full Plate - 6 armor defense Greatsword - 2 to 12 (2d6) damage
Spellcasting: This class cannot cast spells.
Initial Skillset:
Bravery - (passive) When attacking, you gain +20 health, +2 attack bonus,
and +2 natural defense. When retreating, you lose -10 health (Health loss
stops at 1 health), -2 attack bonus, and -2 natural defense.
Honor - (active) You may challenge an opponent to a one on one duel,
gaining +20 health, +4 attack bonus, and +2 natural defense against them.
If they do not accept, or when they accept, they attack an ally, you gain
+10 health, +2 attack bonus, and +1 natural defense against them.
Glory - (passive) For every enemy you slay, you get +10 health for three
posts, and may take another action. ********************

I will make a map on Roblox, and use an alt's place to store it, so that you can have a visual image of how things are set up.

In hindsight, maybe I should have formatted the OP better.
Also, Walyn's Tip #1: Some characters start out far more powerful than others. The Oracle is one of the weaker early classes, while the Barbarian is one of the stronger early classes. |

There will be powerful magic items. No, they will not be easy to get. Yes, I am going to laugh when a smart play by the undergeared team TPK's the team with the sick loot, and takes the loot.
BTW, TPK means Total Party Kill. Try to avoid this, mmk?
And there will be awards given out, based on certain criteria. One of them is "first to hit level cap", which you will find out soon enough (assuming at least one of you survives, and if you aren't stupid, you should) |
