Welcome to the second version of my weapon guide. Now more explanitory and even easier to finally make your own detailed weapon! Version 2 inspired by blocker[Insert Numbers Here]'s Gun Guide. PREPARATIONAL PROCEDURES Enter Studio mode. Open up an empty baseplate. I usually go to EmptyBasePlate's place in Edit Mode when building my weapons. Find a "Minimap script" in Free Models. Once you have all of the things you will need, let's get started! PROCEDURES The first thing you need is some inspiration. Once you've got your idea, start building what is going to be the "template" of your weapon. This will be a rather large model. Don't worry, you will make it smaller. Making it large as such provides for being able to add as much detail as you want. One part in the model MUST be named "Handle" (with a capital H.) This will be what the player holds the weapon by. I recommend saving this template as well. Now take out your minimap script and look inside it. The first line should look like this: "Scale: 1/25." This script will be what shrinks your weapon template down to a legitamate size. Change the scale to you liking. The scale will vary with how big your template is. I usually end up with 1/20. Now press the "Play" button on the toolbar. Once your minimap forms, which should be in the center of the baseplate, pause the game once more using the "Pause" button. Now ungroup your newly made minimap and delete the template. Delete the minimapped baseplate and make these parts into a tool. You can access a tool by using Insert>Object>Tool. Now, you have what will become your gun! Now, you can refer to the wiki to review making a projectile and keeping all the parts together. You will need a "raycasting" script and a "welding" script. Now your weapon is nearing completion! Be sure to name it as well. It can be anything from THGRFWET ARG DGFG-76657643 to PM8. Next, look in the tool's properties. There should be a "GripPosition, GripRight," (etc.) Be sure not to mess with the second one, this will make your weapon look as if it's not in your character's hand. I usually end up with 0, 1, 0, 0, 0, -1, -1, 0, 0, or something along the lines of that. You my do this is solo. Once you have your GripPosition right, do Tools>Test>Play Solo and check out your very own, custom weapon!

My NPC's hand doesn't turn perpendicular, when I put the tool into its model. D:

also make sure to make your handle a forward facing brick (as in it faces the same direction as the barrel) or your character will hold the weapon at an angle
if it turns out your handle is oddly positioned then all you need to do is copy and paste the barrel, then cframe the new brick to the position of the handle (without rotation or you run the risk of messing it up!) and making it invisible |

| Nice guide , good work. Too bad nobody reads them. When someone wants to know something they usually create a new thread instead of searching for their inquiries. So the best help you could give is to answer these questions instead of making guides that no-one reads. |

I recommended this guide to someone.
Although, a Minimap script isn't ALWAYS needed...

Nice. Did your guide exactly how it says and it didnt work. I think it has to do with the PaintballShooter, but it seems as if nothing it wrong. Also do you need to anchor it? or just connect it with studs/welds? Ive seen in a couple Weapons that some people add a Weld to every part. Shall I do that?

| You need to weld it through a script, and yes, the template should be anchored. If it's unanchored, the template will fall apart when you go to minimap it. (I learned that the hard way.) And for starters, just grab the scripts from a slingshot or superball and then get a weld script. |

Awesome. I've always wondered how to do this. V3 should include the projectile script, etc.

Cool Guide! If I wasn't that lazy, I'd make a gun myself, but I want it to show where the bullet went, like a laser sort of thing. I know, I sound newby. It's fine.
