| I write books too, and I think that this story plot has much potential. You say you have not started, right? So maybe start with a simple description. Example: "The wake up was harsh, and the swift flight back to reality too jarring for my taste. The wasteland was all around me, and it seemed too dreary for my tired eyes to compensate." Try describing the landscape more, as if it were the first thing a tired person saw, and unlike the reader, they were familiar with it. I mean, describe it with a tired, "oh this is so repetitive" taste, you know what mean? |

| Also- maybe try making the main characte or narrator not in the story, like so they just watch, and maybe they jump around on the topics. Be creative, inventive. |

Books take a lot of time to finish and master, sometimes it takes two months to maybe two years to actually get it published, let alone finish the book. :U
In my advice I would suggest you research about anything you are even the tiniest bit unsure of and then do multiple rough drafts. In the rough drafts don’t make it perfect just write what you feel you need to write and add after. Start off with something that will catch the readers attention and make them want to turn the page, something mysterious or something actiony.
Also never start with backstory of a character. And if you do have a backstory of a setting or place take it slowly, don’t shove information down readers throats.

I started writing a novel for NaNoWrimo. I had thirteen handwritten pages of pre-writing before I began, but, I've given up writing it, because I have trouble committing. I have files and files of stories that could have potential, but I just can't force myself to even look at them.
Writing a book takes a long time, and you do need pre-writing if you're going to get anywhere. You need a strong heart towards the storyline and a lot of effort. Good luck, and I wish you the best. |
