1/4 of Earth's circumference is 10 018.79km or 1001879000cm.
Now picture this "(" as 1/4 of Earth's circumference, but 10 018 79km or 1001879000cm bigger.
Now let's say you are able to walk around the Earth in 1 day. You think you are going straight but really you are going downwards and coming back up in a circle. Your brain doesn't know that because of how big the earth is so that's why Christopher Columbus was wrong about the Earth being flat. The Earth is so big that your mind cannot process it being round unless you are viewing it from a satellite which shrinks it in size for your eyes and brain to see it. Otherwise it's a "never ending" straight line despise the mountains going up and down. |
