They have a committee that decides the schedules.
Teams often want a rematch or play a game that would bring a lot of attention, so they ask to have that game scheduled. |

Well Alabama has played good non coference teams. Over the last 4 years I am pretty sure we have played Clemson, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Penn State.
