Hello, I am RoLegionnaire.
The question above isn't very specific. What was your first script? How can I learn the basics? Where can I learn how to do advanced scripting? These questions all apply here. |

I learned by pull apart scripts on free models. I found simple ones, and took them apart in an attempt to understand what each word, line, and bit of punctuation was there to accomplish. Learning Lua from general Lua sites or documentation helps you get into making new things faster.
Also, keep in mind, some things may be beyond you at the current moment. Sometimes, you just haven't developed your problem solving skills enough to effectively script or program. |

Off topic: "http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/Cookbook" => "... lookupify{ ... }"
I'm pleasantly surprised to see my lookupify construct being used in the wild. It's such an elegant piece of code, I'd like to see it used more often in stuff. |

@Vitouliss14
"or Try Dingdong272's Tutorials!"
How dare you even recommend Dingdong272's tutorials? They're almost as worse as a video to learn to script...
"Camoy's Cookbook:"
Camoy's Cookbook is really nice, but it isn't a tutorial. It just gives the solution to certain particular problems. I like referring to it on scripting helpers when a player has one of these problems.
"And last but not least Crazypotato4's Tutorial! INGORE THE TITLE:"
I think it should be moved to the article namespace, considering it is already a really good tutorial. That crazy potato isn't that crazy, considering he managed to explain things in depths and yet still in a friendly and easy to understand way. |

Me too :D wiki.roblox.com/index.php/User:Merlin11188/Sandbox (Please don't edit anything. Not even a grammatical error or the likes. Just post onto the discussion page if you want an edit. I'm not done yet, of course.) |

I was starting a quiz to help find the best tutorial for you
( http://wiki.roblox.com/index.php/User:Sduke524/test0 )
But then I ran into the problem of it being easily cheated. If we had the UrlGetParameters extension and some simple way to do a conditional, I could make it harder to cheat. |
