Just wanted some community thoughts on the ROBLOX Game Engine. I read a little bit about it, but enough to understand.

I worded that wrong, I know they didn't make Ogre. Just wanted to know if there was any news on it, except it being an extremely old version.

Don't know if they made their own or are still using it...

Haven't bothered checking out Orge yet. I've been playing around with Love2D lately, though (I think it's horrible),

Yes, they still use Ogre. And they still use an incredibly outdated version.

They should really update it.. :/

It's a Free 2D Engine, haven't found many that are decent and free.

They should bring it to the latest version.

Of course, it's a lot of work and everything, but, if they want to ever reach their goal of 100 players in a single server, they'll need to optimize everything, rendering included. And why optimize it themselves if the people that made Ogre already did it for them...?

Anyways, if they're willing to do the work to implement LuaJIT, why wouldn't they be willing to do the work to implement Ogre?

@Juli True, one of the new features in 1.7 made it optimized, but ya I agree. If they're willing to implement LuaJIT, then why not the newest version of Ogre.

You're correct, if they ever want to achieve 100 players to a server no lag. They need it optimized.

ROBLOX uses Ogre as a game engine and use imPlicitNgin for physics computation as far as I know.

Ogre is *NOT* the game engine. It is purely the rendering engine - they made their physics engine.
