|||| Don’t be put off by how complex this seems! It’s actually quite simple! ||||
On June 2012, an epidemic unlike anything ever seen before hit the earth all at once. The governments retreated cowardly into there little vaults as the dead rose with the disposition of rabid animals. People sprang to blame scientists, governments, and other corporations- although most the suspicion of the masses went to a largely unknown corporation called Unguis Tech, who proposed a project called ‘Duration Restore project’. This project, and the corporation, fell under high controversy as details of animal cruelty and unorthodox experiments leaked. After some riots, the corporation faded back into the shadows, it’s building of residence abandoned. What caused these suspicions, after twelve years have passed? It was an audio log that had recently been leaked over the internet. Its author was ‘Charles Liwanag’, one on scientists who dissapeared along with the corporation. It goes as follows;
“Subject Twenty-Thirty has been regained a portion of its life functions upon exposure to the gas. However, its mental functions need tuning- when it is alone, it does nothing, looking at the ground lifelessly. When somebody does near it, it thrashes out at him/her in a primal fury. The worrying fact is that I can find nothing wrong with it. Further inspection is necessary.
Something intriguing happened this morning, though. I was watching the subject in its cell through the one-way glass, and I… I think it was crying.”
Initially, this recording was largely believed to be fake- but now, it seems like it is the only explanation.
||| Character Control |||
This RP is unique in the fact that it doesn’t take place much in the thread it was made in. Instead, it takes place in PM’s between me and the RPer, which conceals where they are and what they’re doing to everybody who doesn’t see them, thus making it more realistic. How do you role-play? Well, essentially, you tell me what you want to do and I’ll tell you the results. It’s simple, really.
Each RPers character has a set of stats. Most stats can be augmented with ‘Skill Points’- others have to be tampered with through other means. Many skills also augment other skills, so make sure to make the major skills your priority. There is no need to worry, I’ll be the one calculating the stats - however, you can see your current stats by putting ‘/seestats’ in front of your post.
|| Mental Endurance – How much pain you can bear before raising your panic bar. This status cannot be tampered with directly || || Physical Endurance – How long you can perform a high-labor physical activity before raising your fatigue bar. This status cannot be tampered with directly || || Mental Balance – How much you can resist panicking. It also affects your mental endurance || || Panic – How panicked your character is- if it reaches the max, your character will have a panic attack. Panic can be induced by being shocked, surprised, scared, in pain, seeing somebody die, etc. This status cannot be tampered with directly || || Strength – Strength affects your damage output, as well as how effectively you can use weapons, what heavy object you pick up, what labor-heavy activities you perform, and your Physical Endurance || || Intelligence – Affects what intellectually challenging tasks you can perform and your success rate ||
Further details on the Character Sheets
||| ZMTs |||
Some of the ZMTs (Zombie-Mutant-Things, as lovingly named by the population) have odd powers and physical augmentations, enough to overpower any human- however, you have your smarts, and that just might be enough to survive. ZMTs are corpses revived by gas, and their only desire is to kill the living. The gas has not only been leaked internationally into the air in large proportions, but the ZMTs exhale this game, so nowhere is safe. It is unknown if this gas effects living creatures.
And no, none of these are based on anything.
Common - These ZMTs function a lot like humans, except in more of a static condition. As all ZMTs, these ZMTs were built to last (forever) unless killed, so you can’t just wait out the Apocalypse. And they don’t need meat, they just need to kill. They can be killed like any other human, and it is unknown whether or not they can feel pain. A fresh ZMT of this status looks nearly exactly like a human, and might fool the unwary- so shoot when you see the white in their eyes.
Scholars- Physically and cosmetically they are the same as the common zombies- mentally; they leave the commons in the dust. These guys are skilled, have fast reaction time, and can even use weapons like bats and mallets, but not guns or knives. Even alone, they can be a real threat- unfortunately; they’re too smart to travel alone. In a large enough pack, these guys are nearly unstoppable.
Assassins- Masters of stealth, these ZMTs are smarter then the others. They silently sneak up on their unwary targets, and then slice them to ribbons with the blade like extensions on their wrists. They also have the startling ability to cloak, but it doesn’t affect their clothes, so that’s a give-away. It is widely believed that these ZMTs were designed to help with military operations, which hints that Unguis Tech didn’t create the gas just to save lives.
Brutes- Brutes are the equivalent to a human with 150 Strength. Since that is thrice the maximum strength of a human being, it is recommended that you never even get close to this creature. These creatures may be strong, but they aren’t dumb- they’re even smarter then the common zombie, and though that doesn’t say a lot, it says enough for you too never underestimate this creature.
||| Weapons |||
Weapons are objects scattered around the world that are, well, weapons. They can be looted from corpses, containers, or just found. Heck, if you pry a board from a wall or take a pipe from a plumbing system, that’s a weapon too. Everything can be a weapon.
Each weapon has a classification, as follows;
|| Blade – Blades are sharp object meant for, well, cutting things. It’s hard to get one of these things right- it has to be a professionally forged blade, you have to be strong enough to get it through your enemy, and it must be durable. But when you get it right, you get it RIGHT- a good blade with a good user can cut through ZMTs like a laser. In the meantime, you can just stab things with a knife or something. They have the following stats;
Damage- The Average Damage Output of the sword. However, this does not apply to the user- make sure your strong enough to use it. Sharpness- The durability of the blade- unsharp blades won’t do as much damage, so sharpen them often. If your strong enough, however, unsharp blades might still do some damage.
|| Blunt – Probably the most common type of weapon, these weapons, if strong enough, can either bash their skulls or send ‘em flying. Blunt weapons are exactly what they sound- melee weapons that you hit stuff with. These weapons range from ‘Hammer’ to ‘Deadbeat Mallet’, from ‘Wooden Board’ to ‘Kanabō’, and all those crazy things in between. Damage- The Average Damage Output of the weapon. However, this does not apply to the user- make sure your strong enough to use it. Durability- The durability of the weapon- broken weapons won’t do as much damage, so fix them often. Knock-back- How much the enemy is knocked back
|| Ranged – From guns to bows, anything that fires ammunition is considered a ranged weapon. Firearms and Ammo are surprisingly common in town, if you know where to look. However, it is recommended you save your ammo for real tough fights, and use normal melee weapons for dealing with weaker zombies. However, fast zombies, like Assassins, are easy to miss, and easy to waste ammo on. Damage- The Average Damage Output of the gun. Accuracy- A gun with high accuracy increases the chance of hitting a target. Rate of Fire- How many bullets you can shoot in one post. Reload Time- How many posts it takes for you to reload || Character Sheet ||

Were you aiming for kind of a Fallout feeling, or more of a dead island feeling? I'm considering joining this. |

| Dead Island is more 'KILL ALL THE ZOMBIES' instead of 'SURVIVE ALL THE APOCALYPSES'. Fallout? Haven't really played that yet. |

| It's a great idea, if just for how it's played. |

| By technicality, Dead island is more of 'Kill all the zombies and humans that try to kill you.' Anyways, great idea. |
