I like Paul's idea of only using space for military purpose, because at this point, we don't have the money to just look around and not do anything practical.
I think Gingrich's idea of a moonbase is stupid, but if Paul was elected, there would probably be a base to house the military on the moon.
I don't care about Santorum at all so I didn't listen to him.
I missed what Romney said. |

Who knows how long Earth will be around
A comet could come,a deadly volcano,and more.
We should start cloning and also start colonies in space.
Then we will mate with another race like ours.Close enough for us to birth children.Starting a new breed.
The army will make good use of cloning. They can freely test and experiment on clones.Clones that have no life and can not think, etc to make people not riot against it.
The breed of super soldiers will come we will combat other races for supremacy in the universe. |

"Humans can't live in space,"
If we engineered biodomes able to sustain life we could. Sure our bones might grow weaker but, we'll have a place to run to for self preservation. |

| Yet we need our bones if we visit distant planets. Until we can make our own gravity, just impossible right now. |

| Actually, we CAN make our own gravity. Have you ever been to a spaceship 2000 at a carnival or fair? Those things that are like flying saucers and you lean against a wall and they spin really fast, pressing you against the wall? "But that's not real gravity," you're going to argue, and I'll argue back, have you ever tried moving AWAY from that wall? It's impossible. Centrifugal force can be used to simiulate gravity, and we CAN do it, we just don't have a cost effective way of doing it. |

We won't have a military in space for almost a century. Think about it. It takes us years upon years to organize ONE shuttle launch, worth billions upon billions of dollars, and when it comes back, it is so damaged from re-entry, it is out of commission for months for maintenance and repairs, just to make sure the crew is killed.
I'd say we'd be lucky to get to the point where we could launch a shuttle into space without using billions of dollars, and years of work by the end of this century. |

^^ Along with that, I seriously don't see the use of militarizing outer space.
I'm starting to think NASA should be privatized and that outer space resource and mining operations should commence, for example, Helium-3 can be found on the moon and is used for nuclear fusion and medical lung imaging. |

| If you start shipping back enough helium 3 to fund NASA, the price is gonna go way down. |

| Actually, it would take years to even make a weapon that would be practical to use in space. And Space Combat would be insanely dangerous, because no matter where you shoot, someone is getting hit. |

That's a good thing, for the consumer of the helium-3, not so much for the suppliers right now... |

| Really, all you need is a machine gun with supplied oxygen and you could tear just about any spacefaring vehicle apart. |

| You don't seem to understand. No matter which direction you shoot, something, somewhere, is going to be destroyed. That's why people have yet to far nuclear missiles straight into space. |

I missed what Romney said. ___ Romney basically said to Gingrich: If an investor came up to me and said he wants to spend hundreds of billions of dollars to colonize the moon, I would tell him "You're fired." |

| Seriously, even if we did mine Helium 3, we're just not quite to the point of it being a good idea to put a base on the moon. |

| A basic machinegun wouldnt be a sufficient weapon for space combat, sure the bullets wont lose their muzzle velocity but the energy they carry with them is too small for any real damage against a spaceship designed for combat. |

Does NASA even know HOW to mine He3?
At this rate is more efficient to try to make our own. |
