TL;DR VERSION AT THE BOTTOM
Oh, and hater's gonna hate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Justgoaway1's new promotion system has promised us that people will no longer be able to be in VS in a week and become a high rank. He is claiming that this system will be fairer, more efficient, and easy to move up in.
Yes, No, and No.
While his intentions are good, JGA1 has made it nearly impossible to "earn" a high-ranking position in Vortex Security.
He has gone from one extreme (Get to HR without any work for some).......
.....to going to the other extreme (No one gets to HR without completing a plethora of trainings. I mean the plethora part, too.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Look at it through my current situation:
By completing a single training, one can earn up to a certain amount of AP or CP. Even if I could earn 5 AP or CP per training, it would take me 200 trainings just be partially eligible to become a Captain again. I can't go to trainings on the weekdays because I have school.
That means it would take me 100 weeks
That's four days shy of two years.
On top of that, the limit on how much you can get a day is probably too low. I'm guessing this because even after numerous trainings over the past few days, NO ONE IS A CORPORAL YET. (It takes 20 AP to become a Corporal)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UNLESS HE CHANGES THE SYSTEM, don't expect to become an HR ever again fairly.
Hence, fairly.
tl;dr version:
JGA1's new promotion system in VS is flawed and ineffective due to the plethora of trainings you have to attend in order to just get a high rank. It is nearly impossible to get promoted once you get past SGT.
And no, because you are able to get more AP/CP a day with higher rank.
FELOO, I'm just waiting on two things:
New base that JGA1 is supposed to come out with soon (It takes a while. Making a good base from scratch takes a long time.)
Him to change it to a more agreeable and logical system.
If he doesn't change it in two months, I'll probably leave. |
I respectfully disagree, the new AP/CP system allows the high ranks in VS to properly evaluate and reward hard working members without giving them automatic promotions. By doing this we create a rigorous incentive-based promotion system, where members will actually grow more active - based on their drive for ranking up.
In the past, achieving a rank like corporal would be simple, and a small accomplishment. Now achieving corporal is a huge deal - therefore driving our members to go to greater lengths to help VS. |
Sidous, you have a great point. I meant to bring this up in the post.
As time goes on, less trainings will most likely happen.
NO ONE has time to host a lot of trainings. I understand that.
I wouldn't blame a General or Colonel, I'd blamed the incredibly flawed system. |
Meow, I agree with the first part.
It used to be nothing to get to Lt. in a few days.
Now, it's harder to get ranks. It's not WRONG to make them harder to earn. I just point out that it is a little TOO HARD to earn the ranks. If he would fix a few things and make it a slight bit easier to get promoted, that would be fine.
I'll put it on porridge standards because I like porridge.
Old system, too cold.
New system, TOO hot.
If he fixes it, just right. |
I'd also like to add that trainings are not the only way to attain AP/CP. CP can be attained by showing of great leadership aptitude - and CP can get you far if you are able to show this to a HR. For instance, if a member were to create a new VS policy thread, VS conduct thread, or a well thought out suggestion - one might earn CP. If one were to lead a great raid on an enemy, one might earn CP.
In addition to this, AP can be earned in multitudes at a time via excellence in fighting, raiding, training, meeting conduct and more. |
"Justgoaway1's new promotion system has promised us that people will no longer be able to be in VS in a week" A WEEK? It took me seven and a half minutes to when I joined to get 022 accept me into Honors and other sub-divisons, and Ned995 to promote me as his Colonel. Please, it's easier then a week. ^_^ |
Meow, I do need to point out a few things, though.
The CP earned via raid would be excellent. The problem is, we don't raid anyone. We rarely declare war. Sure, we recently had two final battles, but before that we hadn't had an enemy for a good few months.
Also, it would be great to earn AP and CP by showing outstanding performance at bases.
The only problem with that is you have to be seen doing it. Generals and other people of notoriety can't always take the time out of their day to visit the bases and look for people who are doing a great job. Now, I don't know about the current circumstances, but before the reform, I rarely saw a Colonel+ at Vulcan or Valor. Maybe it has changed.
Then you have to think about sheer number. Yes, justgoaway1 will probably promote several more people to General. Right now, there are only six. Six people are to take care of the whole promotion system in Vortex Security. I'm pretty sure that Colonels can promote too. Even with those numbers, that's still an overwhelming amount of people for so few to host trainings, raids, and look out for at bases. |
Actually, JGA1 feels 6 people at General is to much. The Colonel's also run the promotion system, I must remind you.
You can obtain AP/CP for virtually anything a HR feels you did excellently, basically just being an exemplary member. If you take screenshots, decals, videos etc. of you doing these things - we can grant you AP/CP without actually being there. |
| It works. 200 trainings are not hard unless the high ranks are inactive. |
| I think it's ridiculously overcomplicated but at the same time a step in the right direction. Storing everything in a nexus is brilliant. |
| It is a bit overcomplex for roblox but it will separate the inactive from the active and the skilled from the unskilled a bit better then before. |
Meow, there is still a few things to be resolved.
The concept of being able to earn points towards a promotion is great. With the current system, that still requires an extreme amount of time that most people don't have.
Yes, it's nice to finally be able to earn points towards a promotion by just actively participating in things. There still is the problem that is one of the things holding this back.
Time. I don't know anyone's circumstances but mine, but for me, I can't log into ROBLOX that much weekly. Saturday and Sunday are the big days to get on ROBLOX for me. I can't see very many people being able to go to bases, trainings, and raids every day.
Basically by going through this conversation, I've been able to find the main thing he needs to fix. All he needs to do is make it easier to earn points. Maybe trainings can give you 10 AP or CP. Maybe 15 max. Until then, this system shall remain extremely too ineffective. |
i think 200 trainings is quite a bit
unless the HR's hold tons of trainings daily, your waiting a while.
it ALSO depends on the KIND of training it is. |
