Born Cowardly
"Dear, Diary Today is September 8th, 2054. My name is Jay von Siegfried . . I just joined this Ricoian military operation . . I don't know what we're supposed to do or anything, but I thought I'd write this diary to pass the time. Luckily, the Colonel decided to pick me as his apprentice. Don't blame me if this turns into a story or anything, but we're fighting Videa I think. All I know is that they're heavily armed, have very powerful weapons, and air support. You know, AK-47s, Hueys, Blackhawks . . Classic terrorists. They shouldn't be too powerful, and I think we should be out of this war before next year. Heh, these young men probably never fought a war before, just like me. I sure hope this doesn't get too out of hand."
It was a cold September day, and Videan jet-pack troopers were raining from the sky. "September snow, eh?" said the Colonel. "Yeah, I guess you could call it that." said Jay. Videan jetpack troopers had no idea they were in the wrong landing zone. The Ricoian men were marching infront of them, and a Videan glider slowly dropped down overhead. "Uh, is that supposed to happen!?" exclaimed Jay. The Colonel said "What?" as he turned around. He saw the glider coming directly towards them, about to crash over them and through the building behind them. "Oh, God!" yelled Jay as he dived out of the way. The Colonel couldn't be saved in time, he was crushed to death under the eight tons of soldiers and steel. Videan sub-machine gunners rolled out, lugging Thompson prototypes.
They started annihilating Ricoian troops, and the Ricoians didn't take this lightly. They turned around, took out their standard-issue machetes, charged directly at the advancing Videans. They were taken by storm, as over 200 soldiers charged them with machetes. Stab, stab, stab! The Videan troops were murdered. Some of them died right there, others bled to death on the floor. Jay was haunted by the blood-curdling cries of the dying Videans. Some of the Ricoians kicked the dying troops, others continued to stab them to death on the ground. Some just stomped on their throats.
Soon, more gliders and jet-pack troops rained from the sky. Soldiers and supply convoys were crushed under thousands of pounds of steel, infantry, and armor. The soldiers rushed out, lugging AK-47s, Thompson prototypes, and VR rifles. Some had Kindwer RPGs, others had sniper rifles. All the same, they were ready to kill, and somebody was going to die. The Jetpack troops, glider infantry, and light armor drove down to the HQ glider, near the farmhouse. They all met up, and got a sitrep of the current situation. After they were all ready, the charged for the Ricoian HQ. Jay was up in a tower, spotting with his binoculars. He yelled, "Oh, God! We've got incoming! Sound the alarm! Ready the MG-42s! Get the T72s in position!" Nearly instantly, armor rolled out of garages, and into the front line. Soldiers lugging 25 pounds of MG-42 rushed to deploy. Riflemen stationed themselves in trees to get a better shot. Katana melee infantry hid in bushes to ambush the armored infantry. Whatever was going to happen, they were going to die.
The Videans started charging for the Ricoian HQ. They had armor tanks, and their elite Jet-pack troops had nigh an inch of armor plates all over their body. They started running as fast as they could toward the Ricoian HQ, while still maintaining the ability to fire accurately. The MG-42s started cutting down the Videans, but their armor withstood. Soon, they got anti-tank Pak-36 guns into the field. One was to set up, but was hit with an HE shell from a FLRT. The battle was fierce, and all the while Jay was hiding in the HQ, crying in the corner.
After a few hours of intense combat, Jay realized he needed to step up to the plate and help his comrades. He grabbed his carbine, and got out to the front lines. He started firing, and took out an armored infantry unit on his first shot. "Boom! Headshot!" he yelled to the Shock-Trooper next to him. "Yeah, good job. Call me when you kill hundereds of these nuts!" said the Shock-Trooper. Almost immediately he took a .30cal round into the head. Nothing was left of his head, so Jay picked up his assault rifle. "Haha, I got one!" yelled Jay. It was almost sun-set. The Videans weren't stupid enough to fight in the dark. Soon enough, an M1A1 Abrams rolled out of the valley and into the battle-field. It took out a T-72 with one shot. "Attention! Enemy armor incoming!" yelled a Captain. The battle was only just beginning . . |

So it is in 2050... And they are using Technology that went obsolete 20 years ago. The MG42 even longer, considering it hasn't been produced for more then 70 years now. The M1A2 Abram is getting replaced by the M1A3 Abram in 2014, and the Huey was never a good helicopter.
