@TheMycro

I think a larger learning curve = less actual learning.

But I totally agree with Querty: ROBLOX is obsessed with making coding easier. It has become such an obsession that 'scripting' in ROBLOX has lost it's meaning. Anyone can use a stamper tool and a wiring device. -_-

I'm not convinced. Yeah, the resources for scripting aren't as easily found as they ought to be, but the problem with learning scripting is that it's hard to teach, especially to young users. Realize that most users here probably haven't taken algebra or anything like that. The solution you bring up is good, but it would do very little in the grand scope of things; most people still wouldn't script. The majority of the community will never script. Also, the reason that the community is young is because Roblox targets young people...

The problem that leads to poor places is not that people want well-visited places. The problem is the discrepancy between a popular place and a quality place. Roblox can do something about this too, by changing how the front page works. Instead of the most popular, it should somehow determine quality (through user ratings most likely). Solutions like this, that affect everyone, are what we need.

(Also, please make an effort to be concise. Your reader is not obligated to read)

Actually, user ratings already exist and they're not much better than place visits or the current ammount of users online at a place...

Just look at the most favorited places of all time on the game pages... they're not really that better than the front page games...

"I definitiely agree with you, Varp. Game rating would be an excellent thing. Of course, roblox would have to balance between quality and players online. However it would turn the front page from badly set up free models to work of art by those whose creativity exceed natural limits."

Is that so much of a bad thing? It might be a good idea to factor in how much attention the game has gotten and to ensure that new games get that attention.

"Favorite measures more their urge to play it again than quality, though. But when you think about it, roblox kids would still rate bad quality games as good, just because they are ... well, kids."

They'll rate what's fun. I think it'd work.

Actually, to make things faster, roblox could convert the code upon upload of the place.

rating would be different then favoring. rating, if someone were to negatively rate the game it would change the overall score of the game apposed to favoriting which is just the number of times someone likes the game and as the place is more popular/been around longer the number would go up. rating would change that.

@ENET, wouldn't work, what happens when you try to edit it?

@Varp, I'm a noob at writing persuasive articles. But I agree that the age group doesn't fit the game. But if the learning curve, could somehow be reduced, that would help a ton.

It's not like ROBLOX encourages quality. Just look at the contest system. It fails. The fact that your vote can be "bad" when you pick the nicer game as opposed to the flashly one thats just a still image. The contests are almost never "games", it really isnt fun the way it is currently set up. Back in the good old roblox days contests were fun, and the first place place actually had quality.

Well, the age up might have good repercussions on the community, which would greatly help.
