Hi Scripters it's me again.....

I've come to tell you about a new object in the Explorer called "LoadingGui". If gui objects and local scripts are put under this object, players that join your game will automatically at first get your gui (plus a couple of other gui elements), instead of seeing parts load in. The player will only have a Player object in your game until they press the "Enter Game" button, at which point we generate a Character for them.

If you don't want to use this feature, simply leave LoadingGui childless, and loading will continue to happen as it currently does.

Questions? Concerns? Bugs? Please discuss!

Ooh...that's nice. It can make GUI games or any other intro-GUI related themes appear more...professional.

Yay! I'm so going to use this for my intro GUI! :D

Continue making such updates! Also, try fixing the RbxGui library. It has many problems.

One of the problems I can remember is that tutorials don't work anymore, because the RbxGui library tries to use UserSettings(), which it doesn't have the permissions to use. Make it able to use locked stuff again (I remember it worked before, and it used UserSettings..).

Also, tutorials aren't documented in the RbxGui library, the help function returns nothing for them.

Also, CreateTrueScrollingFrame seems to be buggy. Try fixing that too.

@Nikolas5411

You are in the Scripters forum which means you are in the wrong place but not the wrong time.

And I really like this update...Hope to see it soon in the REAL ROBLOX.

Sweet :D This will allow me to further my RPG by loading a whole bunch of stuff specific to that player before they even enter :D

How about making the enter game button optional? I have an entirely GUI game. No need for a character.

We should be able to manipulate the button to move it, remove it, change its color, etc, just like a normal GuiButton.

Better: we should be able to create the button ourselves only if we want one. It's simple: when the button is clicked, we make a fading animation, and when the GUI is done fading, we call LoadingGui:ClearAllChildren, which will make the character spawn.

I would love to give you guys control over the enter game button, but it poses some security/usability risks. Suppose someone makes a game and forgets to include the button, or they make it, but it is accidentally hidden by other gui elements? No other guis are rendered when the LoadingGui is up, so if you don't know keyboard shortcuts while in fullscreen mode, you could get stuck.

Make a special GUI object that is always on top and must be within LoadingGui or else it isn't shown?

Wouldn't it be just as easy to load the CoreGui along with the LoadingGui to prevent such a problem though?

@jeditkacheff

The CoreGui doesn't show when the LoadingGui does?

IT SHOULD!

The CoreGui should _ALWAYS_ show. In fact, you know what? The CoreGui should be on C side, just like before, and should always be shown, as soon as the application starts.

What if you just have a property of LoadingGui named something along the lines of "CreateCharacter"?

It would be a Boolean value, and unchecking it would simply... not load the character.

@Julien. I disagree with it showing/not showing. If we want an into with no GUI's, then WE WILL GET A CUTSCENE WITH NO GUI'S EXCEPT THE ONES I PUT IN THERE! There is a BIG difference between a HUD, and no HUD. You wouldn't understand that, but my Quality control will make sure that, if that HUD can go away, it will go away. This will allow for MORE PROFESSIONAL LOOKING GAMES.

Unlike you, creating GUI's is one of the main things I do on ROBLOX. Also, the solution with the LoadingGui button...

Make it so it finds the first 'Button' or part in the LoadingGUI named whatever it needs to be called.

Copy all of it's properties except Z-Index. Make sure the size/position make it clickable. Z-Index should be set to 11 in the core GUI. Make it visible. If it doesn't fit the key, spew out a warning, along with creating your own button/default button.

But I like these updates. Keep them coming.

@SecureDatabase

Whether the CoreGui shows or not shouldn't matter because you don't need the space around it.

And, precisely, on the subject of professional looking games, well...

> I WANT TO BE ABLE TO POSITION THE BUTTON WHEREVER I WANT AND EVEN TO BE ABLE TO REMOVE IT. <

And the only way to do that is if the CoreGui shows, because, otherwise, they won't accept to let us make the button impossible to click.

I want to make GUI games without a button that spawns your character. I want it these GUI games to REMAIN without any character and want them with the GUI loading.

That will make a professional looking game, precisely.

A non-customizable button that you can't position where you want to doesn't make a really professional game. :)
