| Well after I made my trolling thread I looked into Anarchy but it seems like all I find is conflicting info. I like the idea of small, self governing cities rather than a large Central government, however I don't want war ALL the time. Can some WWC'ers give me solid info? |

| Anarchy is the most stupid and bankrupt ideology, just like communism, in history. |

| I think it would be a bit of a hard life, since I estimate almost all Anarchists lack the skillsets to provide for themselves after a revolution; unless the Global Village Construction Set is completed beforehand or some other variable I have not imagined yet. |

| Well the area I live in would be good for an Anarchy based society to form. Woods for farming, Lots of people with no weapons to fight back. It sounds like an Anarchist's dream location. |

Are you going to become a warlord or something, then? |

>Are you going to become a warlord or something, then? ------------------- No but I know someone (theoretically) who has the weapons and will to do so. Not saying that he would but I can't think of anyone in this area besides him that has the Logistics and the will to do it. |

Well, I ask myself all the time "What is the purpose of governing large bodies of people?" It used to be centered around keeping everyone alive, now it's all about the economy, whatever the hell it's for.
The way you describe it sounds alot like the Mesopotamian city-states or Greek polis'. generally, if government tself were to suddenly disappear, people by nature would group together again and form some sort of government amongst themselves. Pure anarchy, like communism, is currently impossible due to human nature. But it would be interesting to see if it did work. |

| Even pure Anarchy wouldn't last long. It's kinda like everything becomes up for grabs and the strongest get it and the weakest just follow into the rain of the strongest. |

It would be Greece all over again. City-states, war, chaos, tyrant rule (people taking power that isn't theirs), city-states again, and finally, unified Hellenistic Greece. The latter being a complete nationality.
It's inevitable... but that's not to say I like government. |

The state only came into existence following massive societal transformation. That societal transformation could not be recreated without massive social upheaval. |

This is what I have against city-states too. Also, Pesistratos was a cool guy, why are you putting him as a negative? |

| On anarchy, I'm predisposed to desire a government for myself, but I can't come up with any reasons against anarchy that I think are worth arguing for. |

| In a way it makes sense (to me) but I can't really explain why. No it's not because it seems cool, or that I want to sound Rebellious. I just kinda lost faith in the Government after the NDAA. As of now I am pro Anarchism but if the SOPA gets passed I'm gonna be an Anarchist... |

| I used to be for anarchy a couple of years ago, because it seemed to me that anarchy was the way to go, with no laws in place, nobody would go to jail. But then I remembered, humans would abuse the lack of laws, and we would eventually form a government to protect ourselves. We wouldn't call it a government at first, more of a coalition, but then drama would increase and stick, as each person thought that they would be doing the society as a whole the best by leading it. My history teacher helped me come to this conclusion as well, by pointing out that w/o a government or police force, people could take things. I'm pessimistic about human nature anyways though, unlike everybody else I've seen here, especially the anarchist. |

| That's not true. Human nature can change, just has to change over the course of many generations. Anarchy COULD work, if you got enough people to agree to teach to their kids that hurting each other is bad from the start. |

| As I said however, I don't think it would work it would take several generations in my opinion for that to work. |
