And we live in a society that is able to grant every living being an adequate home, and adequate access to food, medical care, and education. Poverty, even relative poverty, should have been eradicated by now. |

| Yeah, we know, but it must be this way. The last time we tried to sanction companies that use child labor, tens of thousands of children were pushed into the oldest profession in existence. |

| I don't support trying to find solutions within the capitalist mode of production. The system that makes this necessary should be abolished. |

| It's not the system that makes it necessary. It's the government that presides over the country. |

Didn't read the article? Apple could increase the value of safety, wages and housing, without making a considerable dent in their profit margin.

>Foxconn manufactures it, not Apple. ------------ Even though Foxconn produces it, it doesn't mean that Apple can't make better conditions for the workers. |

| It's not as if there are many companies in China that treat their workers better. And besides, if they stopped getting products from Foxconn, then Foxconn would fire all of their workers, and they'd all be unemployed, instead of just having low wages. |

Which is more of an argument against the capitalist mode of production than it is for it. |

One Foxconn worker Mike Daisey interviewed, outside factory gates manned by guards with guns, was a 13-year old girl. She polished the glass of thousands of new iPhones a day. __________________

It goes on all over the world. I head that the clothing for Abercrombie & Fitch, American Eagle and Aeropostale are also made via child labor.
Don't quote me on it, I'm not certain if it's true. |

Then Apple would just move to India or Bangladesh. |

Apparently, if you read in the article, Unions are highly illegal in China, and anyone found organizing a union will be imprisoned.
Ahh, Communism is so great, right COD kids? |

| It's consumerism, not capitalism, that is to blame. Why else would there be cheap labor? Creating a whole bunch of stuff to sell for a higher price than it takes to make. It's basic greed. |

I have noticed. I've also noticed, though, that governments are corrupt, and that large corporations prefer low-wage unskilled labor. |
