If you've played Simcity 3000, then you will know what I'm talking about. If not, then just look up some gameplay videos or something. Essentially, it's a clone of Simcity 3000 for Roblox with the additional feature of viewing other people's cities and the data related to their cities. For example to see the happiness in the city "Aura" you could click a graph while viewing their city and it would show the aura. But most of you probably won't get this, so let me explain.

You build a city, and make Residential, Commercial and Industrial zones. The city also needs power, water and places like hospitals or schools. It either grows or becomes abandoned, and you either make or lose money. You can view the data on the city on graphs which show the different areas and the levels for that area. For example you could see how happy the citizens of an area are by looking at the graphs and at the colors on the map.

I'm simply trying to clarify that you're going to make this game alone/without any scripting efforts needed from anyone other than yourself. Right?

I will clarify. I am not planning on making the game, I simply posted this idea because I thought someone would be interested in it and because SimCity 3000 is a good game.

I'll quit hating for the moment, because I know that I've thought alot about making this game myself :c

But there's always that issue of distinguishing a game. Sure, RoCity 3000 would get a good amount of plays for its' build quality (if there was any, just speculating), and yet it isn't its' own game, seeing as how it wouldn't be in existence without Wills' brilliant idea of simulated cities.

Yeah I really like SimCity and I'm just wondering how it would turn out of Roblox if anyone were to ever make it and there is this guy who got 6million people in his city in 3000 once and theres a video.

For me it wasn't about making a city which was impeccable in number, but rather it was all about optics paired with the peace of mind sourced from said numbers which made the game something worth playing over and over. Simple mechanics like that manifested themselves into an experience worth looking into over and over again as a player, imho. What would make RoCity 3000 a game worth returning to, hmm?

I like to make cities that are dense and have skyscrapers.
I say "like" because I have it.

Also there would be a feature allowing others to view your city and vice versa and I think it would be a good feature because I didn't like me being the only person to view my city ever.

That's good fun and all that, exept that's a feature; a gimmick. It's not really a selling point, because it's not a vital element of gameplay.

I don't really know what will get the average Roblox person's attention with this game. Most likely they've never heard of it and prefer "free-modeled-uncreative-plastic-spongebob-zombie-survival-obby-tycoon."

Nonsense! Most Robloxians share the same cultural backgrounds, and from which, also comes similar landmarks in what they think determines a good game. So long as you know who you're targeting, making this little twist on SC3K'll be a piece of cake.

As I said before I'm not actually making it and it's just an idea. I don't know how to script but I'm a pretty good builder but a game like this is nothing without scripts. Then again I don't see why people couldn't see it as a good game.

If I were you, I'd just start mashing ideas together with SC3K.

Back on topic, the major issue I came across with this game is land value, and how to implement it. And scripting isn't fun :c

Land value is one of those things I really don't get.

land value as far as I knew had all to do with the quality of buildings which your zones would generate.
