"...of lag..."
Not necessarily. It drains the battery slightly faster, but the difference in execution speed is negligible.

| Well, I mean, the whole entire setup is prone to lag. If you try to run ROBLOX on a less-than-decent computer, you get lag. Try running it on a dinosaur - well, you probably won't even be able to. But really, 256M RAM? And this is supposed to run a graphics engine, a physics engine, a Lua interpreter, API calls, and cache without lag? |

Who said tablets are limited to 256M RAM? Mine has 467M RAM and has a dual core OMAP4 CPU @ 1GHz. Of course, tablets and smartphones are relatively new to the market and haven't had time to develop hardware to adequately run something like Roblox without lagging up. Pretty soon, hardware specs won't be an issue.

Well think about it; Mojang managed to port Minecraft on to the Xperia Play with about 60% of the full game's features. And the controls are only somewhat horrible.

"Multitouch"
Great. We now will have to RECODE all of our tools to be compatible with a 2 finger drag technique, and a click and drag technique.

"Great. We now will have to RECODE all of our tools to be compatible with a 2 finger drag technique, and a click and drag technique."
While that isn't a realistic complaint, I already pointed out the more "real" issue that with muli-touch it may be possible that both the in-game mouse and a GUI can be clicked at the same time, which is not a state the game can ever be in right now, in fact, some of my plugins even assume and rely on it being the case.
However, you'll just have to deal with it. Multi-touch is the future and I would be more happy that we got mult-touch functionality in the API than angry that my stuff had to be changed if it was introduced. |
