I live in America, I've been to Europe, and my Mom lived there. So mark Europe off that list. My friend has a HOUSE in China. Mark Asia off that list. And I know some people who are from and have been to Africa, so mark that off too.
You see, the reason other people think America is stupid is because of people like you, who make the worst generalizations I've ever heard. |

I say it's a false opinion. We lost our way long ago.
~And there was much rejoicing.~ |

True. But we constantly embarrass ourselves trying to prove we're better, when in truth most of our country isn't in any better shape than the majority of Europe. |

pretty much every nation in africa has people living in horrible poverty that would actually be described as houses made of mud and sticks if they were lucky they might not even have a house |

-In the very poor parts. Only there. My Korean friend likes it better in Asia.

-Most of Africa is a place you'd never want to visit. But the economic opportunity is practically endless. |

"Most of Africa is a place you'd never want to visit."
That is why it should stay on the list.
"economic opportunity is practically endless"
guys there are economic opportunities that the people cant get due to tribal fighting and murderous dictators it must not be much worse than america
"In the very poor parts." I could be wrong, but I think that might be everywhere outside the cities, excepting some farmers. And there's also a lot of repression, especially Tibet. It might not be horrid living conditions everywhere, but you've got extremely oppressive government over a lot of people. |

While that may be true, you still have all of Central Africa in abject poverty. That's most of the population of Africa, you know. |

Nigeria isn't ruled by a dictator, and have you ever seen the petroleum? South Africa has no tribal fighting and dictators, I've never met anyone say that it was a bad place after they visited.
You are wrong. Not everyone is poor. America has a wannabe-dictator, who is over a lot of people, granted no where near as much as Asia, but we do. |

But not on a scale like that of some of Africa. If it is, then it should be easy to name one state that is filled with landmines, wracked with fighting by rival warlords, and has a smaller GDP than the average first world family. |

Central Africa has had a tremendous history of it. The DRC maybe the epitome of it, but it's how they've always been. The least anyone could do there is try and help. |

There's poverty everywhere. America isn't the most ideal place in the world, but I love it here. I agree, we have lost our way, and I learned about Plato's thought of the "perfect government", and I agree that it would work much better than the government that we have now.
Basically, Plato's ideal government is a number of people incharge, but not everyone has a say. Only the wise and noble were the rule the country, and they had to give their LIVES to the country. So they could not marry, they could not have a family, and so on and so forth.
And the rest of the people could choose their own path. They could go to peace and live a good life and have a family and such. Males and females had the same rights and equal knowledge.
Sounds good to me, right now we have a government full of undeserving, greedy, lying "representatives". They want more taxes so they can get more money, basically. |

Comparing Africa to America would be difficult. But Americans, in general, are rude people. Drug smuggling, too. So many people I know say "Everyone is Ok" but then they condem faiths like Catholicism (Which is why I keep it secret) and Islam. But in Africa the bad things are (mainly) the Wars, which, in time, will stop. It has a troubled history, but few countries don't. |

I would rather live in a republic than that. Because with that, the stupid people reproduce, to make more stupid people. And the smart people die off, leaving stupid people in charge of everything, like in America. |

Good point.
If JFK was the president RIGHT NOW, I bet our government would be just fine. |

| Almost all of Africa is below the world GDP per Capita, with the 15 lowest being African nations. |

Maybe the government, but the economy will be the same. If I were president I'd just give most of the money back... |

I'm sure if you look hard, one of the low 15 will be "Afghanistan." |
