It was a very plain room, but very busy. Red-brown carpet, regal white wallpaper. Two hallways were heading back to the sides of the the lobby desk. Two secretaries were glued to their computers. Interns carried papers, and a security guard was in place with his back away from the wall where the two elevators were. He would have a perfect view of the room.
And then I espied the detective, his right arm carrying the manilla folder to the back room. It was now or never. He could not publish the evidence.
Out of my pocket I drew a Robuck as I advanced out of the elevator chamber, letting the green parchment flutter to the ground.
The guard spotted the money rather than my face, which was fortunate, because everybody on the force in Bloxia City knew who I was. He went to walk over to pick it up as I went off quickly in the other direction. There was a potted plant that Lawsey was passing.
In my mind I focused the manipulation energy on the decoration. It was light enough that I didn't feel a headache as I readied to knock it into Lawsey's way. I could practically flick it across the room if I concentrated hard enough. I could see the mental strings wrapping around the base, and the final tether lurched into the end of my arm, like I was walking an invisible dog. Without much effort, I pulled.
The plant tipped and knocked into the detective's left leg, disturbing his stride, and the folder fell to the floor. Bright yellow posters scattered within a few studs of the landing, but I already knew that I needed to retrieve the white packet, which was out of the stumbling Robloxian's reach.
I was at his side by the time everything settled. I put up a thin string around the evidence packet, and when the thread jumped towards my arm I was kneeling down so it would wrap itself around where my shoulder would be.
"Here, let me help you with that," I said to him. I gathered up the yellow papers, but the packet lifted itself from the ground at the same time I was standing up again. It was rising with my shoulder, of course, and I hefted he yellow posters to make it seem like I was getting a better grip of the small stack. To the casual eye, the evidence would never have been seen slipping up into the sleeve of my overcoat.
I dropped the posters right back into the folder that the detective was holding again. Then the unfortunate events occured. I glanced out of the corner of my eye to tether the corner of the secretary desk.
"Sir," someone shouted. "You!" Lawsey said at the same time.
I whirled around to see the guard pointing a pistol. I could feel Lawsey glaring at me. He could obviously recognize me, and so would the other.
The security Robloxian was holding the Robuck, so I made a quick tether and plucked it from his grasp with my right hand, just as the string from the desk had placed itself in my left hand. He stumbled forward, dropping his weapon. The Robuck floated in the air like a magic carpet, darting back to its owner.
Now I had eye contact with Lawsey, who obviously was taken aback. With a confident smile I said to him as I twisted my left arm and flicked my hand: "Stay out of my buisness, detective."
The desk raised itself from the ground and flew in the direction of the guard, spinning end over end before it rolled over him before he could ready his pistol. The surprised screams from the secretaries rang out as I pushed past Lawsey to the left wall of the building.
Did I mention there was an open window to let in the glorious summer heat?

| I don't really like it. So FAR I mean. It has potential. And I really like your writting style. But it's kind of generic. |
